The Rohde & Schwarz R&S®SMC100A is an analog signal generator built around the design goal of high performance at an attractive price. It is offered with a frequency range of 9 kHz to 1.1 GHz or 9 kHz to 3.2 GHz depending on the installed RF path option, and is positioned as a flexible, universal all-purpose signal generator. It is described as the smallest signal generator in its economy class, occupying a ½ × 19", 2-height-unit form factor, and is lightweight for both bench and portable work.
Rohde & Schwarz identifies the SMC100A as an ideal tool across several application fields: service and maintenance, research and education, field use, secure areas, and simple production applications. Its compact dimensions, integrated analog modulation, and straightforward operation suit these general-purpose stimulus tasks.
ValueTronics holds and stocks its own test-and-measurement inventory in a 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive, Elgin, Illinois. Used units are inspected and functionally verified in-house against the original manufacturer's specifications before they ship, while new units leave our facility factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer. Handling inventory directly in our own warehouse lets our team stand behind every instrument we sell.
Rohde & Schwarz is an independent group of companies specializing in electronics, established more than 75 years ago with company headquarters in Munich, Germany. It has operated under the Rohde & Schwarz name throughout its history, with no major corporate name change or acquisition affecting the brand.

Important: The R&S®SMC100A base unit must be ordered together with a frequency path option — either the R&S®SMC-B101 (9 kHz to 1.1 GHz) or the R&S®SMC-B103 (9 kHz to 3.2 GHz).
Important: The R&S SMC-DKD DKD (ISO 17025) calibration including ISO 9000 calibration can only be ordered together with the device.
Important: When pulse modulation is activated, the R&S SMC100A automatically switches to the ALC mode S&H; the ALC loop is opened and the output level is set directly, with a Sample & Hold measurement performed prior to each frequency and level setting.
Recommended pairing: the R&S®NRP-Z91 or R&S®NRP-Z92 power sensors, listed as recommended extras, support level correction and external power measurement with the SMC100A.
