The RIGOL DS1000B Series is a family of four-channel digital oscilloscopes comprising the DS1074B, DS1104B, and DS1204B. Each instrument is built around four analog channels plus one external trigger channel, allowing multiple signals to be captured simultaneously to meet industrial measurement needs. RIGOL describes the series as combining powerful trigger and analysis capability with a clear color display and math operations so that waveforms can be captured, viewed, and analyzed quickly and clearly.

An oscilloscope of this kind displays voltage waveforms over time, making a signal's amplitude, frequency, timing, and shape directly observable on screen. The DS1000B Series is intended for a broad range of bench and production work: listed applications include electronic circuit design and test, viewing transient signals, manufacturing test and quality control, education and scientific research, industry control, and the design and analysis of mechanical and electrical products.

ValueTronics stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000-square-foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois, so the instruments we list are equipment we keep on hand. Every used unit is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer.

Compare Other Models in This Series

The DS1000B Series groups three digital oscilloscopes — the DS1074B, DS1104B, and DS1204B — that share a common four-channel architecture and feature set while differing in headline performance. Every model provides four analog channels plus one external trigger channel for simultaneous multi-channel capture, the same 5.7-inch 64K-color TFT display, and the same trigger, measurement, and analysis toolset.

Across the series, RIGOL pairs each model with a matched passive probe set and the same standard interface complement, so the choice between models comes down to the bandwidth and sampling performance an application requires rather than differences in workflow or connectivity.

Each pre-owned model below is its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Choose the specific model that fits your required bandwidth and sampling performance, then review that page for its current availability.

The three models are separated primarily by bandwidth: the DS1074B provides 70 MHz, the DS1104B 100 MHz, and the DS1204B 200 MHz, with typical rise times of under 5 ns, under 3.5 ns, and under 1.75 ns respectively. Maximum equivalent-time sample rate also scales with the tier — 10 GSa/s on the DS1074B, 25 GSa/s on the DS1104B, and 50 GSa/s on the DS1204B — while real-time sampling of up to 2 GSa/s (half channel) is common to all three.

Fastest scanning speed likewise differs, from 5 ns/div on the DS1074B to 2 ns/div on the DS1104B and 1 ns/div on the DS1204B, all extending to 50 s/div. The matched probe set follows the model — PVP2150 for the DS1074B and DS1104B, PVP2350 for the DS1204B. See the comparison table below for the model-by-model figures.

Model Bandwidth Equivalent Sample Rate Rise Time (typical)
DS1204B 200 MHz 50 GSa/s < 1.75 ns
DS1074B 70 MHz 10 GSa/s < 5 ns
DS1104B 100 MHz 25 GSa/s < 3.5 ns

Additional differences in specifications beyond the few shown above are not listed here — see each model's full specifications below.

Important: Maximum input voltage of the analog channel: CAT I 300 Vrms, 1000 Vpk (transient overvoltage 1000 Vpk); CAT II 100 Vrms, 1000 Vpk.
Important: To meet the published specifications, the instrument must have been operating continuously for thirty minutes within the specified operating temperature, and a Self Calibration operation (accessible through the Utility menu) must be performed if the operating temperature changes by more than 5°C.
Important: Standard real-time sample rate is 2 GSa/s only in half-channel mode (one of CH1/CH2, or one of CH3/CH4); with all channels active the real-time sample rate is 1 GSa/s per channel.
