View full details

The Keysight E5071C ENA is a vector network analyzer that characterizes the transmission and reflection behavior of RF components and networks. It measures the full set of two-port S-parameters (S11, S22, S21, S12), and across the series it covers frequencies from 9 kHz up to 20 GHz depending on the configuration selected.

A network analyzer stimulates a device under test with a known swept signal and measures how that device transmits and reflects energy across frequency. The E5071C performs corrected transmission and reflection measurements and group delay measurements, and it supports 75 Ω measurements when used with 50-to-75 Ω minimum-loss pads in addition to its native 50 Ω measurements.

ValueTronics stocks and ships this equipment from our own 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Every pre-owned unit is inspected and functionally verified in-house by our technicians before it ships, while new units leave our facility factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer.

Brand Heritage

Keysight Technologies traces its roots to Hewlett-Packard, whose test and measurement business was spun off as Agilent Technologies in 1999. In 2014, Agilent's electronic measurement division became the independent company Keysight Technologies, which carries this product line forward today.

Compare Other Models in This Series

The E5071C ENA is offered as a family of models that share a common analyzer platform but differ in frequency range, port count, and whether internal bias tees are fitted. Two-port and four-port test sets are available, with frequency ranges reaching 3, 4.5, 6.5, 8.5, 14, or 20 GHz depending on the option.

Lower-frequency options use Type-N (50 Ω) front-panel connectors, while the 14 GHz and 20 GHz options use 3.5 mm (50 Ω nominal) connectors. Options designated with bias tees add internal DC bias capability at the test ports.

Each pre-owned model in the E5071C family below is its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Select the option that matches the frequency range, port count, and connector type your application requires.

The primary differences across the family are headline frequency range (3 GHz through 20 GHz), the number of test ports (2 or 4), and whether internal bias tees are fitted. System dynamic range and corrected-performance specifications vary by option and frequency band, as shown in the comparison table.

Net weight ranges from approximately 18.2 kg for two-port configurations to 21.8 kg for four-port configurations, and power consumption likewise increases with port count. Refer to the comparison table for the exact frequency range, connector type, and option suffix of each model.

Model Frequency Range Test Ports Connector Type
E5071C 9 kHz to 8.5 GHz / 300 kHz to 20 GHz (option-dependent) 2 or 4 (option-dependent) Type-N 50 Ω / 3.5 mm 50 Ω (option-dependent)
E5092A 50 MHz to 20 GHz 38 SMA (female)

Additional differences in specifications beyond the few shown above are not listed here — see each model's full specifications below.

Important: Maximum test port input level: +10 dBm. Damage level: +26 dBm or ±35 VDC.
Important: The specifications in this data sheet also apply to the E5071CEP ENA network analyzer express configuration.
Important: Power calibration using an external power meter improves level accuracy of the test port output power. Proper power meters/sensors, and the 82357B USB-GPIB interface are required to conduct power calibration.
Important: Calibration kits and ECal modules (e.g., 85032F, 85033E, 85052D, 85036E, 85092C, 85093C, N4691B) are specified in this data sheet but are ordered separately; the appropriate kit or ECal module for the device connector type is required to perform a corrected (calibrated) measurement.
Important: Line power: a third-wire ground is required.
Important: Options E5071C-230, E5071C-235, E5071C-430 and E5071C-435 are marked Discontinued in the datasheet.
Recommended pairing: the Keysight E5092A configurable multiport test set (50 MHz to 20 GHz) connects to the E5071C over USB to extend measurements to multiple test ports.
