The Com-Power AC-220 CombiLog is a broadband, linearly polarized hybrid antenna covering 20 MHz to 2 GHz as a receiving antenna and 80 MHz to 2 GHz as a transmitting antenna. The hybrid design combines log periodic elements with low-frequency bow-tie elements on the same feed structure, with common-mode chokes installed to reduce common-mode currents on the outer conductor of the coaxial feed line. By combining log periodic and biconical antenna geometries into a single assembly, the AC-220 covers a frequency range that would otherwise require four separate conventional antennas.
The AC-220 is suitable for use as an EMI test antenna for qualification-level regulatory compliance measurements including FCC, CE, RTCA DO-160, FDA, and SAE testing across the 20 MHz to 2 GHz range. As a transmitting antenna driven by an RF power amplifier, the AC-220 establishes the calibrated radiated RF fields used for product immunity testing from 80 MHz to 2 GHz. Beyond emissions and immunity work, the antenna also supports test site comparisons, shielding effectiveness testing of large enclosures, field monitoring, and site surveys.
