View full details

The BK Precision 4047B is a 20 MHz dual-channel function and arbitrary waveform generator that produces stable and precise sine, square, triangle, pulse, and arbitrary waveforms. CH1 and CH2 outputs are fully independent with individual on/off buttons, and both channels deliver the rated 10 Vpp amplitude into 50 ohms (up to 20 Vpp into open circuit) across the full frequency range. The instrument combines a DDS engine for standard sine and triangle waveforms with a true point-by-point arbitrary waveform generator, giving the user both high frequency resolution and improved signal integrity for custom waveforms.

The 4047B is suited to a wide range of applications including electronic design, sensor simulation, functional test, and serial data bus validation. Linear and logarithmic sweep capability, AM/FM/PM/FSK/PWM modulation, and a continuously variable DC offset let the user inject signals directly into circuits at the correct bias level. Separate output amplitude and DC offset amplifiers allow a large DC offset (for example, ±4.99 V) to be combined with a small amplitude output signal (such as 10 mV) — a configuration useful when stimulating circuits that require precise bias conditions alongside small AC perturbations.

Accessories Supplied

  • Power cord

Important: Maximum amplitude is specified into a 50 Ω load (10 Vpp); open-circuit output reaches 20 Vpp. Verify load impedance when setting amplitude to ensure the signal level delivered to the DUT matches the intended programmed value.Important: All specifications apply to the unit after a temperature stabilization time of 15 minutes over an ambient temperature range of 23 °C ± 5 °C.Recommended pairing: use with WaveXpress waveform editing software to generate, edit, and upload custom arbitrary waveforms via the USB interface to the 14-bit, 125 MSa/s, 16,382-point arbitrary engine.
