The B&K Precision 1900B Series is a family of laboratory-grade switching DC power supplies engineered to deliver high output current in a small, lightweight form factor. The series comprises three models that share a common chassis and feature set while offering different voltage and current envelopes: the 1900B (1–16 V, 0–60 A), the 1901B (1–32 V, 0–30 A), and the 1902B (1–60 V, 0–15 A). Each unit provides up to 960 W of output power along with a front-panel 5 A auxiliary output, dual 3-digit LED displays, and rotary encoder knobs with a dual-action push button for coarse and fine voltage/current adjustment.
The 1900B Series is positioned by the datasheet for a wide range of applications requiring high current, including production testing, telecommunications, R&D, service, and university labs. Beyond standard constant-voltage and constant-current bench operation, the supplies support three user-defined presets of voltage and current values for quick recall, an analog remote control function that allows output power, voltage, and current to be adjusted without touching the front panel, and a USB interface for PC-based control through remote control software or programming commands.
ValueTronics International stocks, inspects, and ships the 1900B Series from our 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. As an authorized B&K Precision distribution partner since 1992, we maintain hands-on familiarity with this product family across the full V/I range — from the 60 A 1900B used on high-current bench work down to the 60 V 1902B configured for higher-voltage applications — which translates into accurate quotes, realistic lead times, and informed answers when questions come up about presets, the analog remote control connector, or the rear-panel mode switch.
B&K Precision Corporation is a privately held US-headquartered test and measurement manufacturer with a long-running product line in DC power supplies, function generators, oscilloscopes, and electrical safety instruments. There are no recent corporate name changes or acquisitions affecting the brand relevant to this product family.
The 1900B Series is a three-model family built around a shared chassis, control architecture, and feature set, with the models distinguished primarily by their voltage and current envelopes. All three units provide a 5 A front-panel auxiliary output, USB control, an analog remote control terminal, three user-defined presets, dual 3-digit LED displays, and the same overvoltage, overtemperature, and overload protections.
The differences between models are concentrated in three areas: the variable output voltage range, the variable output current range, and the maximum output power. The 1900B and 1901B both reach 960 W; the 1902B reaches 900 W. The 1900B is also the only model in the family that includes a rear-panel remote sensing terminal for compensating voltage drop across load leads.
Each new 1900B Series model below is listed as its own product page with condition-matched pricing and availability. Use the comparison table that follows to select the model whose voltage, current, and feature mix best fits the application, then click through to the individual product page for the specific condition tier you need.
The 1900B is the highest-current member of the family at 0–60 A and the only model that includes the remote sensing terminal called out in the datasheet. Its 1–16 V output range and 960 W power envelope make it the family member specified for high-current, lower-voltage bench work where lead-drop compensation is a stated concern.
Selecting between models is primarily a question of how the V × A envelope maps to the device under test. The 1900B emphasizes current capability (up to 60 A) at a lower voltage ceiling (16 V). The 1901B sits in the middle of the family at 0–30 A and 1–32 V. The 1902B trades current for voltage range, reaching 60 V at up to 15 A.
Beyond the V/I envelope, the datasheet's tracking OVP table shows the threshold schedule differs across the family: the 1900B specifies two voltage bands (1–5 V and 5–16 V), while the 1901B and 1902B add a third band for output voltages above 20 V. Maximum output power is 960 W on the 1900B and 1901B and 900 W on the 1902B. Refer to the comparison table for the model-specific values that distinguish the three units.
| Model | Output Voltage | Output Current | Maximum Output Power |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1900B | 1 - 16 V | 0 - 60 A | 960 W |
| 1901B | 1 - 32 V | 0 - 30 A | 960 W |
| 1902B | 1 - 60 V | 0 - 15 A | 900 W |
| 1901B | 1 - 32 V | 0 - 30 A | 960 W |
