The 1785A sits at the higher-current end of this family, with 0–18V output and 0–5A current capability. This makes it the natural fit when the device under test runs at lower voltage but draws more current — typical of logic-level circuits, low-voltage analog work, and battery charging applications within the supply's voltage range.
The 1785A delivers up to 5A at 18V — the highest current in the family — and is suited to lower-voltage, higher-current loads. The 1786A doubles the voltage range to 30V while dropping current capability to 3A, giving a balanced envelope for general bench work. The 1787A extends voltage further to 60V but reduces current to 1.5A, making it the choice when the application needs the higher voltage and current demands are modest.
