The Anritsu Site Master S311D/S312D is a portable, multi-function field instrument designed for testing and troubleshooting RF systems in the field. The S311D provides cable and antenna analysis from 25 MHz to 1600 MHz (extendable to 2 MHz with Option 2), while the S312D adds a fully functional spectrum analyzer covering 100 kHz to 1600 MHz. Both models combine accuracy, portability, and ruggedness in a handheld form factor weighing less than 5 lbs with a rechargeable NiMH battery.

The Site Master is positioned for Land Mobile Radio (LMR) and Public Safety system technicians testing RF performance of P25 and TETRA radios in the VHF/UHF, 700 MHz, and 800 MHz bands. With its 2 MHz frequency coverage option, the Site Master also serves defense applications in the HF band, as well as broadcast and cellular installations. The cable and antenna analyzer sweeps cables and antennas using Return Loss and VSWR measurements, while the Distance-To-Fault (DTF) measurement pinpoints poor connections, contamination, damaged cables, water penetration, and bad antennas before they cause major failures.

At ValueTronics, every Site Master S311D and S312D is inspected, tested, and supported from our 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Our in-house technicians verify cable and antenna analyzer performance, spectrum analyzer noise floor, and installed option functionality before shipment, so field crews and procurement teams know exactly what is in the box. This hands-on verification is what separates a working tower-test instrument from an unverified marketplace listing, and it is the foundation of our reputation across LMR, public safety, broadcast, and cellular infrastructure customers.

Brand Heritage

Anritsu's RF and microwave test capability includes the 1993 acquisition of Wiltron Company, which brought Wiltron's network analyzer and signal generator technology and North American commercial presence into the Anritsu portfolio. Site Master cable and antenna analyzers, including the S311D/S312D series, are part of Anritsu's field RF test product family.

Compare Other Models in This Series

The Site Master S311D/S312D family consists of two models that share the same chassis, display, battery, connectivity, and cable and antenna analyzer architecture. Both cover 25 MHz to 1600 MHz cable and antenna measurements as standard, with optional extension down to 2 MHz (Option 2) for HF-band applications.

The primary differentiator between the two models is the integrated spectrum analyzer. The S311D is a dedicated cable and antenna analyzer. The S312D adds a 100 kHz to 1600 MHz spectrum analyzer, plus a wider option catalog including the Interference Analyzer, Transmission Measurement, Channel Scanner, CW Signal Generator, Power Meter, and Bias Tee — capabilities that are only available on the S312D platform.

Each pre-owned model below is listed on its own product page with condition-matched pricing and configuration details. The S311D and S312D share most accessories, calibration components, and test port cables, so a customer standardizing on the Site Master platform can mix and match cal kits, adapters, and probes across both models in the same field kit.

The S312D's combination of cable and antenna analyzer plus spectrum analyzer in a single handheld is the configuration most often specified for tower commissioning crews who need both physical-layer fault location and spectral environment characterization in one trip up the tower. Buyers focused exclusively on cable and antenna sweeps without spectrum analysis requirements typically standardize on the S311D.

The model-level decision comes down to whether the spectrum analyzer and its associated options are required. If the application involves interference hunting, channel power measurement on P25 or TETRA signals, transmitter verification, or any of the S312D-only options (Interference Analyzer, Channel Scanner, Transmission Measurement, CW Signal Generator, Power Meter, or Bias Tee), the S312D is the required configuration.

If the application is strictly cable and antenna sweeps, DTF fault location, and optional High Accuracy Power Meter measurements with the PSN50 sensor, the S311D covers the requirement at a lower configuration cost. Both models support the Power Monitor (Option 5), the High Accuracy Power Meter (Option 19), the 2 MHz Frequency Extension (Option 2), and the GPS Receiver (Option 31). Refer to the comparison table that follows for the option availability matrix.

Model Cable & Antenna Analyzer Range Spectrum Analyzer Range Spectrum Analyzer Included
S312D 25 MHz to 1.6 GHz (2 MHz with Option 2) 100 kHz to 1.6 GHz (tunable to 9 kHz) Yes
S311D 25 MHz to 1.6 GHz (2 MHz with Option 2) No

Additional differences in specifications beyond the few shown above are not listed here — see each model's full specifications below.
