The Agilent 8753ES is a vector network analyzer covering 30 kHz to 3 GHz standard, with optional extension to 6 GHz via Option 006. The instrument family also includes the 8753ES Option 011 (vector network analyzer without test set, intended for use with an external 85046A/B or 85047A test set) and the 8753ET transmission/reflection vector network analyzer. The 8753ES integrates an S-parameter test set that enables simultaneous measurement of reflection and transmission characteristics in both directions with a single connection to the device under test.
Network analyzers of this class characterize the RF behavior of components, subsystems, and materials by measuring how signals are transmitted through and reflected from a device under test. The 8753ES is used for measuring S-parameters (S11, S21, S12, S22), conversion to impedance or admittance, and presentation of results in Cartesian, Smith chart, or polar formats. Supported measurement formats include log/linear magnitude, phase, group delay, SWR, and real/imaginary components, with selectable averaging, IF bandwidth filtering, and trace smoothing for noise reduction.
ValueTronics stores and tests every instrument we ship from our 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Unlike drop-shippers who never physically handle the equipment they list, our team inspects each network analyzer through our own technical staff before it leaves our facility. For a precision instrument like the 8753ES, where calibration kits, test sets, and test-port cables all need to be matched to the analyzer's frequency range and connector interface, working with a source that actually holds the equipment in inventory shortens the path from order to a measurement system that powers up and produces accurate S-parameter data.
Hewlett-Packard's test and measurement business was spun off as Agilent Technologies in 1999, and the electronic measurement portion of Agilent was subsequently transferred to Keysight Technologies in 2014. The 8753ET and 8753ES were introduced under the Agilent brand and continue to be supported through the Keysight service network. Instruments may be encountered carrying any of the three brand identities depending on date of manufacture.
The 8753ET/ES family covers three configurations on a shared 30 kHz to 3 GHz (or 6 GHz with Option 006) platform. The 8753ES is a full S-parameter vector network analyzer with internal test set, supporting full two-port calibration. The 8753ES Option 011 omits the internal test set and is designed for use with an external 85046A/B or 85047A test set. The 8753ET is a transmission/reflection analyzer that supports enhanced-response and one-port calibrations rather than full two-port calibration.
All three configurations share the same source, receiver, display, calibration software architecture, and connectivity. The differentiation between models is in the test set integration and the resulting calibration capability available to the user.
Each pre-owned model in this family is listed on its own product page with condition-matched pricing. Specifications, accessory ecosystem, and calibration kit compatibility are documented per model so that the analyzer, test set, calibration kit, and test-port cables can be ordered as a working system.
The 8753ES carries an integrated S-parameter test set with a solid-state transfer switch, enabling full two-port error correction in a single instrument. The standard 8753ES is supplied with 7-mm precision test ports; Option 075 substitutes 75-ohm type-N test ports for cable TV and broadcast component characterization to 3 GHz.
The 8753ES (standard) provides 7-mm test ports and supports full two-port S-parameter calibration; the 8753ES Option 011 omits the internal test set and provides the type-N test ports of whichever external test set is attached (85046A, 85046B, or 85047A); the 8753ES Option 075 provides 75-ohm type-N test ports for 75-ohm work to 3 GHz; the 8753ET provides 50-ohm type-N test ports with transmission/reflection (rather than full two-port) calibration.
The comparison table that follows summarizes frequency range, test port connector, calibration capability, and source power range across the family so that a configuration can be selected based on the device-under-test connector interface, the calibration depth required by the measurement, and the frequency coverage needed.
