The Keysight X-Series signal analyzers are a family of five benchtop signal and spectrum analyzers—the CXA (N9000B), EXA (N9010B), MXA (N9020B/N9021B), PXA (N9030B), and UXA (N9040B/N9041B). Keysight describes the family as spanning a range of price and performance that lets you configure and optimize the best tool for your needs, from accessible essential characterization through flagship wideband performance.
A signal analyzer measures and characterizes signals in the frequency domain—displaying spectral content, power, and modulation quality so an engineer can see how a device transmits and receives. The X-Series is applied to assessing transmitters, troubleshooting receivers, and analyzing over-the-air signals, with measurement support for standards including 5G NR, LTE and LTE-Advanced, and W-CDMA. The line also addresses demanding work in radar and EW, satellite, and 802.11ax/ay, as well as general-purpose and educational signal characterization.
ValueTronics stocks and holds its own test-and-measurement inventory in a 20,000-square-foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Every pre-owned unit we sell is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships, while new units leave our warehouse factory-sealed exactly as received. Operating in the test-and-measurement market since 1992, ValueTronics pairs that hands-on verification with deep product expertise to help engineers source the right instrument with confidence.
Keysight Technologies carries forward a test-and-measurement heritage that began at Hewlett-Packard. HP's instrument business was spun off as Agilent Technologies in 1999, and that test-and-measurement organization was subsequently established as Keysight Technologies in 2014.
The Keysight X-Series signal analyzers are a single family of five models—CXA, EXA, MXA, PXA, and UXA—that span a range of price and performance so you can configure the best tool for a given task. Every model shares the same streamlined multi-touch interface and the same proven measurement algorithms, and 100-percent code compatibility across the family lets test-system software move from R&D to design verification to manufacturing.
Keysight positions the UXA as the flagship of the line and the CXA as a low-cost tool for essential signal characterization, with the EXA, MXA, and PXA spanning the range between them. All five accept PathWave X-Series measurement applications and instrument options through license-key upgrades, so a chosen configuration can grow as test requirements evolve.
Each model in the X-Series family below links to its own dedicated product page, where you can select the specific pre-owned unit with condition-matched pricing. Compare the frequency coverage, analysis bandwidth, and feature set across the CXA, EXA, MXA, PXA, and UXA to identify the configuration that fits your application.
The models differ primarily in frequency coverage and internal analysis bandwidth. Maximum frequency ranges from 26.5 GHz on the CXA up to 110 GHz on the UXA's N9041B—extended to 1.1 THz with external mixing—while maximum internal analysis bandwidth ranges from 25 MHz on the CXA to 1 GHz on the UXA. The MXA is offered as the N9020B and N9021B, and the UXA as the N9040B and N9041B, with the pairings differing in frequency and bandwidth.
These hardware differences are accompanied by tiered feature availability: capabilities such as real-time spectrum analysis, low noise path, full bypass path, and microwave preselector bypass appear on the higher-tier models and not on every member of the family. The comparison table below details which features are standard, optional, or unavailable on each model so you can match coverage to your measurement needs.
| Model | Max Frequency | Max Analysis Bandwidth | DANL (2 GHz) |
|---|---|---|---|
| N9030B | 50 GHz | 510 MHz | -174 dBm at 2 GHz |
| N9000B | 26.5 GHz | 25 MHz | -163 dBm at 2 GHz |
| N9010B | 44 GHz | 40 MHz | -172 dBm at 2 GHz |
| N9020B | 50 GHz | 160 MHz | -172 dBm at 2 GHz |
Additional differences in specifications beyond the few shown above are not listed here — see each model's full specifications below.

Important: Several PathWave X-Series measurement applications are currently qualified only for the N9041B Input 1 port.
Important: N9021B: Please refer to the configuration guide for the list of supported PathWave X-Series Applications.
Important: Some multi-touch measurement applications support SCPI command only as remote control (e.g., the cdma, 1xEV-DO, and TD-CDMA/HSPA+ applications).
Important: This information is subject to change without notice.
Recommended pairing: add Keysight 89600 PathWave VSA software for vector signal analysis and demodulation across more than 75 signal standards and modulation types.
