The HVD3000A series is a family of high voltage differential probes engineered to deliver high common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) over a broad frequency range, simplifying the measurement challenges found in noisy, high common-mode power electronics environments. The probe design is easy to use and enables safe, precise high voltage floating measurements.
The series is built to cover the fullest range of power-electronics measurement tasks: 120 V and 240 V switch-mode power supplies and half-bridge circuit topologies, 600 V-class three-phase electrical apparatus, 5 kV-class electrical apparatus, single-phase and three-phase solar PV inverters including newer 1500 Vdc string inverters per IEC/EN 61010-031:2015, high-power DC-DC converters operating at 500 Vdc or higher, and upper-side MOSFET/IGBT gate-drive measurements. Multiple probes can be used together to understand complex device switching performance.
ValueTronics stocks and holds its own test-and-measurement inventory in a 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Holding inventory directly lets us confirm condition and move quickly on orders.
LeCroy Corporation, founded in 1964, was acquired by Teledyne Technologies in 2012 and has since operated as Teledyne LeCroy. The probes in this series carry the Teledyne LeCroy brand.
The HVD3000A series brings together high voltage differential probes that share a common design — high CMRR over a broad frequency range, 1% gain accuracy, high offset capability, AutoZero, and the ProBus active probe interface — while differing in safety rating, bandwidth, and differential voltage range. The family is organized to cover the fullest range of applications, from 120/240 V switch-mode power supplies through 600 V-class and 5 kV-class electrical apparatus.
Within the family, the HVD310xA models serve 1 kV-rated 600 V-class measurements, the HVD3206A and HVD3220 add a 2 kV safety rating with 1500 Vdc CAT III solar PV capability, and the HVD3605A extends coverage to 5 kV-class apparatus at a 6 kV rating. Each model is specified to provide the best available gain accuracy, widest differential and offset voltage range, and strong CMRR within its rating class.
Each new model in the series listed below is its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Select the specific model and safety rating that matches your application to see its current new availability and price.
The models differ primarily in three dimensions shown in the comparison table that follows: safety rating (1 kV for the HVD310xA models, 2 kV for the HVD3206A and HVD3220, and 6 kV for the HVD3605A), bandwidth (from 25 MHz on the HVD3102A up to 400 MHz on the HVD3220), and differential voltage range at high attenuation (from 1500 V on the HVD3102A/HVD3106A up to 7000 V DC + peak AC on the HVD3605A).
Cable length is a further differentiator: standard models ship with a 2 meter cable, while the -6M variants (HVD3106A-6M, HVD3206A-6M) and the HVD3605A use a 6 meter cable. The HVD3220 offers four switchable attenuation ratios (50x/100x/250x/500x) and the tightest guaranteed gain accuracy in the family at 0.35%–0.7%. Consult the comparison table for the exact bandwidth, rise time, voltage range, and attenuation of each model.
| Model | Safety Rating | Bandwidth | Max Differential Range |
|---|---|---|---|
| HVD3206A | 2 kV | 120 MHz | 2000 V |
| HVD3102A | 1 kV | 25 MHz | 1500 V |
| HVD3106A | 1 kV | 120 MHz | 1500 V |
| HVD3106A-6M | 1 kV | 80 MHz | 1500 V |
