The Vitrek 964i High Voltage Switching System is a programmable HV switching mainframe designed to automatically route high-voltage test signals and return signals to selected test points during hipot and continuity testing. The mainframe accepts up to eight relay cards in a 2U chassis and provides individual relay control rather than the fixed switching patterns found in typical cable testers.
The 964i is purpose-built for multi-conductor, multi-point hipot testing applications — testing connectors, multi-conductor cables, and component arrays such as SMD capacitor trays where each conductor or device must be isolation-tested against every other. The datasheet describes typical applications including 8-pin connectors, 64-conductor cables, and entire trays of SMD capacitors, with the system handling the routing automatically so the operator does not perform manual test-point connections at high voltage.
The Vitrek 964i family centers on a single 8-card, 2U mainframe configured to the buyer's specific hipot and continuity switching requirements. Configuration variables include the voltage tier of each installed card (3 kV LV, 7 kV HV, 10 kV HV, or 15 kV HV), the number of cards (1 to 8), the input bus polarity per card (+ HV bus or − return bus), and the relay technology (standard HV/LV switching or HC high-current switching to 40 A).
Three pre-built configurations are listed in the datasheet for common channel counts: the 964i-8X2MX (two 7 kV cards = 16 channels plus a Hipot/Cont mux card), the 964i-16X2MX (four 7 kV cards = 32 channels plus mux card), and the 964i-24X2MX (six 7 kV cards = 48 channels plus mux card). Additional configurations are built to order by combining the base 964i mainframe with the appropriate relay cards from the ordering table.
Each pre-owned 964i configuration listed below is its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Card population, voltage tier, and option mix vary between listed configurations — review the specific configuration on each product page to confirm it matches your application before ordering.
The pre-built family configurations scale by installed channel count at the 7 kV voltage tier. The 964i-8X2MX provides 16 switched channels (two HV7 cards) for smaller connector and cable test applications; the 964i-16X2MX provides 32 channels for mid-density test setups; the 964i-24X2MX provides 48 channels for higher-conductor-count cables. All three pre-built configurations include a Hipot/Continuity mux card for routing both hipot and continuity signals through the same matrix.
Buyers needing voltage ratings above 7 kV, mixed-polarity cards, high-current (HC Series) switching, or specific channel counts outside the pre-built range can populate a base 964i mainframe with the individual cards listed in the ordering table — including HV10 (10 kV) and HV15 (15 kV) cards for higher-voltage hipot testing, and LV3 cards for 3 kV applications. The comparison table below summarizes the listed configurations.
