The Aim-TTi TG1006 is a 10 MHz DDS function generator that combines waveform generation with sweep, modulation, and a 120 MHz frequency counter in a single 2U bench instrument. It was developed from the TG300 and TG550 series of analog function generators, but uses direct digital synthesis (DDS) frequency generation to provide greater accuracy and stability and to cover a wider frequency range. DDS generates waveforms digitally using a phase accumulator, a look-up table, and a DAC, so the accuracy and stability of the output are tied to that of the crystal master clock.

A function generator produces known, controllable test signals used to stimulate a device under test so that its response can be measured. On the TG1006, the manual sweep mode uses a dedicated analog control to sweep the frequency over any defined span, which is suited to setting up frequency-dependent parameters such as checking filter characteristics. The non-volatile frequency-list storage holds commonly used values that can be recalled directly or stepped through in sequence as required in a repetitive test routine.

ValueTronics stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000 square foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois.

Brand Heritage

This instrument is built by Thurlby Thandar Instruments Ltd. (TTi), one of Europe's manufacturers of test and measurement instruments. Products have historically been sold under two brand names, TTi and Aim, and the full product range is transitioning to a single Aim-TTi brand. The changeover is gradual, so many products continue to carry the TTi or Aim brands.
