The Rohde & Schwarz SMCV100B is a vector signal generator built around an internal baseband generator with arbitrary waveform (ARB) capability. The base unit ships with a baseband generator providing 64 Msample of ARB memory and 60 MHz of RF bandwidth, and it is configured for a specific frequency and feature set through a range of hardware and software options. RF output is delivered on an N-female connector in a 50 Ohm system.
The instrument generates standard-compliant signals across a broad set of digital modulation systems, each enabled as a licensed option. Internal digital standards include broadcast formats such as DVB-T/DVB-T2, DVB-S/DVB-S2/DVB-S2X, ATSC and ATSC 3.0, DAB/T-DMB, DRM, ISDB-T and DTMB. Using R&S WinIQSIM2 (which requires an external PC), additional standards are available, including 5G New Radio, LTE, 3GPP FDD, GSM/EDGE, CDMA2000, TD-SCDMA, IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Bluetooth, and LoRa, along with navigation systems such as GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou and IRNSS. Custom digital modulation supports ASK, FSK, PSK and QAM schemes up to 2048QAM as an option.
ValueTronics stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000 square foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Every pre-owned unit is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer. Holding inventory directly lets our team confirm what is on the shelf and move instruments to engineers and labs quickly.

Important: Maximum permissible reverse RF power is 2 W from 1 MHz to 7.125 GHz, and maximum permissible DC voltage is 35 V (nom.); in case of too high reverse power, the RF output is switched off.
Important: The base unit can only be ordered with an R&S®SMCVB-B103 frequency option (4 kHz to 3 GHz). The frequency extension to 6 GHz (R&S®SMCVB-KB106) requires the R&S®SMCVB-B103 option, and the frequency extension to 7.125 GHz (R&S®SMCVB-KB107) requires both the R&S®SMCVB-B103 and R&S®SMCVB-KB106 options.
Important: For multiples of f = 0.5 GHz, the specified level range is limited to –100 dBm due to a discrete spurious.
Important: Digital standards with R&S®WinIQSIM2 require an external PC.
Important: When the AWGN noise generator is used, a frequency offset cannot be added to the wanted signal.
Usage tip: connect R&S NRPx power sensors via the R&S NRP-Z4 or R&S NRP-ZKU adapter cable for external power measurement and level adjustment of the instrument.
