The Keysight N5193A is a UXG agile signal generator covering 10 MHz to 20 GHz in its Option 520 configuration and 10 MHz to 40 GHz in its Option 540 configuration. It is built for agile signal generation, combining fast frequency, phase, and amplitude switching with list-mode sequencing and a range of optional modulation capabilities.
A signal generator produces precise, controllable RF signals used to stimulate a device under test so its response can be measured. The N5193A extends this role with agile switching and list-mode operation: it can step through stored lists of frequency, phase, amplitude, pulse, chirp, and modulation parameters — including Barker codes — under hardware-trigger control to build complex stimulus sequences at high speed.
ValueTronics stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Every pre-owned instrument we sell is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer. Holding our own stock means the unit you order is the unit we have on hand, ready to support your bench or test system.
Keysight Technologies traces its measurement heritage to Hewlett-Packard, whose test and measurement business was spun off as Agilent Technologies in 1999 and then established as the independent Keysight Technologies in 2014.
The N5193A UXG agile signal generator is offered in two frequency configurations. Option 520 provides a specified range of 10 MHz to 20 GHz, while Option 540 extends the specified range to 10 MHz to 40 GHz. Both configurations share the same agile switching architecture, list-mode engine, synchronization paths, and optional modulation suite.
Beyond the headline frequency range, the two configurations differ in output connector type, attenuator coverage, and high-frequency power and match performance, as detailed in the comparison table below.
Each pre-owned configuration below is presented on its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing, so you can select the exact frequency option and condition that fits your application and budget.
Within the UXG line, the N5193A is distinguished by its emphasis on agile switching and list-mode sequencing of frequency, phase, amplitude, pulse, chirp, and modulation parameters under hardware-trigger control.
The primary difference between the two configurations is frequency reach: Option 520 is specified to 20 GHz, and Option 540 is specified to 40 GHz. The RF output connector also differs — Option 520 uses a precision APC-3.5 male connector (or Type-N female with Option 1ED), while Option 540 uses a precision 2.4 mm male connector supplied with 2.4–2.4 mm and 2.4–2.9 mm female adapters.
The optional Option AT1 dual attenuator covers the full mechanical step-attenuator range up to 40 GHz on Option 540, and high-frequency specifications such as maximum output power and SWR are stated separately for the extended band above 20 GHz. Refer to the comparison table for the per-configuration frequency, power, and match values.

Important: Requires a 6 GHz signal at the 6 GHz input to operate; a rigid jumper cable connects the 6 GHz output to the 6 GHz input.
Important: During storage below -20 °C, instrument states may be lost.
Important: Phase noise specifications are not warranted in a vibrating environment.
Important: Recommended calibration cycle is 12 months.
