The HP 6515A is a compact, DC-regulated bench high-voltage power supply in the HVB Series, providing 0–1600 V at 0–5 mA output. Hewlett-Packard's test and measurement instrument business was spun off as Agilent Technologies in 1999, and Agilent's electronic measurement division was subsequently transferred to Keysight Technologies in 2014. The HVR Series — comprising the 6521A, 6522A, and 6525A — consists of three tightly regulated supplies (0.005%) that provide sufficient output current for many devices not capable of being powered from conventional low-current, high-voltage supplies. Listed applications for the HVR Series include power TWTs, Klystrons, continuous wave magnetrons, power gas lasers, and electron beam welding devices.

The 6515A is the lower-voltage member of the HVB Series, providing 0–1600 V at 0–5 mA. It shares the same series regulator feedback architecture, solid-state construction, and floating-output design as the 6516A, but in a more compact voltage range suited to bench applications that do not require the higher 3000 V output of its sibling.
Within the HVB Series, the 6515A provides 0–1600 V at 0–5 mA, while the 6516A extends to 0–3000 V at 0–6 mA. Both share the same 0.01% + 16 mV load and line regulation specifications and the same temperature-compensated zener diode reference architecture. The 6516A uses a 4-digit thumbwheel control to 1-Volt resolution, where the 6515A uses 100 V steps with intermediate vernier to 100 mV resolution.
The HVR Series instruments — 6521A (0–1000 V, 0–200 mA), 6522A (0–2000 V, 0–50 mA), and 6525A (0–4000 V, 0–50 mA) — operate at the tighter 0.005% regulation tier and provide constant voltage / constant current operation with automatic crossover.
