The Extech DCP42 is a 160W single-output continuous switching DC power supply with USB connectivity. It delivers an adjustable output of 0 to 42V and 0 to 10A, and its continuous switching design provides high-efficiency electrical power conversion for greater energy conservation and lighter weight. A defining characteristic is its constant-power behavior: the supply continuously calculates and adjusts the voltage and current limit points according to the available 160W maximum, so at maximum current of 10A the voltage is limited to 16V, while at maximum voltage of 42V the current is limited to 3.8A.
The DCP42 is intended for laboratory use, bench testing, service and repair, research and development facilities, and educational and institutional training. Its adjustable wide-range output and programmable presets make it suited to the varied power requirements encountered across these bench and lab environments.
