The P7500 Series is Tektronix's TriMode differential probe family, built around a differential probing architecture in which one probe setup makes differential, single-ended, and common mode measurements. By changing the probe settings rather than moving the probe from its connection points, the operator sets up once and makes three different measurements, reducing setup time while maintaining high bandwidth and low DUT loading.
A differential probe couples a signal pair into an oscilloscope while rejecting common-mode content, allowing an engineer to observe high-speed differential signaling on a device under test. The P7500 Series is applied to high-speed serial and memory interfaces, with listed application examples including PCI-Express II, Serial ATA III, DDRII, FB-DIMM, Rambus, XAUI, and 2*XAUI.
ValueTronics stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Every pre-owned unit is sourced and fulfilled directly from that facility; each pre-owned unit is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received.
The P7500 Series differential probe family consists of three TriMode models — the P7520, P7516, and P7513 — that share the TriMode probing architecture, the TekConnect interface, user-selectable 5X or 12.5X attenuation, a 100 kΩ differential DC input resistance, and a 1 meter cable. All three make differential, single-ended, and common mode measurements from a single probe setup.
The models differ primarily by bandwidth and the associated rise-time and rejection specifications, allowing a buyer to match probe performance to the bandwidth of their TekConnect interface oscilloscope.
Each pre-owned model below is its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Select the model that matches your bandwidth requirement to see its current availability and price.
The P7520 is the highest-bandwidth model in the series at >20 GHz in A-B mode, with a guaranteed 10%-90% rise time of <27 ps and a typical 20%-80% rise time of <18 ps.
The three models separate by bandwidth: P7520 at >20 GHz, P7516 at >16 GHz, and P7513 at >13 GHz, as shown in the comparison table that follows. Guaranteed 10%-90% rise times track those tiers at <27 ps, <32 ps, and <40 ps respectively.
Differential input range and the graded CMRR, isolation, and DMRR figures also vary by model across the frequency range — for example, the P7520 specifies CMRR >12 dB to 20 GHz while the P7516 specifies >15 dB to 16 GHz and the P7513 >15 dB to 13 GHz. Consult each model's row in the comparison table for its exact values.
| Model | Bandwidth | Rise Time (10%-90%) | Rise Time (20%-80%) |
|---|---|---|---|
| P7513 | > 13 GHz | < 40 ps | < 30 ps |
| P7520 | > 20 GHz | < 27 ps | < 18 ps |
| P7516 | > 16 GHz | < 32 ps | < 24 ps |
Additional differences in specifications beyond the few shown above are not listed here — see each model's full specifications below.

Important: Minimum system requirements: TDS6154C and TDS61254C require firmware version 5.1.5 and above; 80A03 and RTPA2A require firmware version 2.3 and above.
Important: P7500 Series TriMode Probes are compatible with the DPO/DSA70000 series and the TDS6000B/C TekConnect interface oscilloscopes.
Important: Handheld and fixtured probing requires the optional P75PDPM Precision Differential Probing Module, which is not included in the standard accessories; the standard probe ships with TriMode Long Reach Solder Tips (P75TLRST) for solder-down connectivity.
Recommended pairing: use the Tektronix PPM100 or the 3-position PPM203B Probe Positioner listed among the recommended accessories to hold the probe in place for stable, hands-free probing.
