The Keithley 7174A is an 8x12 high-speed, low-leakage current matrix card built for semiconductor research, development, and production applications that require high-quality switching of I-V and C-V signals. Each crosspoint is a 2-pole Form A configuration that switches both signal and guard, and connections are made through 3-lug triax connectors with the outer shell tied to chassis for safety and noise shielding. The center conductor is fully surrounded by the inner conducting shield, allowing fully guarded measurements with higher isolation and improved speed and accuracy.

A switching matrix routes test signals from source and measurement instruments to multiple devices or test points under software control, eliminating the need to manually reconnect cables between measurements. In a low-current semiconductor characterization setting, the matrix card sits between the SMU and the device under test, and its leakage, offset current, and dielectric absorption directly affect how quickly and accurately the measurement system can resolve small currents. The 7174A is intended for these low-level signal environments, where parasitic capacitance and offset currents on the switching path would otherwise dominate the measurement.

ValueTronics has supported test and measurement professionals since 1992 and operates from a 20,000 square foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois, where our team stores, inspects, and tests the equipment we offer. Working directly with our facility means engineers and procurement teams interact with people who can confirm condition, configuration, and availability against the actual unit rather than a drop-shipped listing, which is particularly valuable for specialized switching hardware like the 7174A that integrates with a specific mainframe and SMU ecosystem.

Brand Heritage

Keithley Instruments is a precision measurement brand long associated with low-current, low-voltage, and semiconductor characterization instruments. Keithley became part of Tektronix in 2010, and the Keithley product lines, including the 7174A matrix card and the SourceMeter SMU instruments referenced for compatibility on this datasheet, are now offered under the Tektronix company umbrella while retaining the Keithley brand identity.

Accessories Supplied

  • Eight row interconnect cables for card to card matrix expansion
