The A6312 is a DC-coupled current probe rated for DC to 100 MHz bandwidth, designed for use with the AM 503, AM 503A, AM 503B, and AM 5030 current probe amplifiers. Its split-core construction permits easy connection to the circuit under test, and it may be ordered either separately as the A6312 or as Option 05 to the AM 503S current measurement system.

A current probe clamps around a conductor to measure the current flowing through it without breaking the circuit, presenting the result as a voltage waveform for display on an oscilloscope. The combination of an A6312, an AM 503B, and a TM502A forms a current-measurement tool that can display currents up to 20 amps DC + peak AC and 50 amps peak pulse on any oscilloscope. Because the probe is DC-coupled, it measures both the DC and AC components of a current simultaneously.
