The Agilent 4263B is an LCR meter covering a test frequency range of 100 Hz to 100 kHz, designed for fast measurements on components in applications that require both precision and versatility. The datasheet describes the instrument's performance as ranging from general bench-top impedance measurements to complex transformer, coil, and electrolytic capacitor measurements, with the design objectives of fast, reliable, and versatile testing at a low cost.

An LCR meter applies an AC test signal to a passive component and measures the resulting impedance to determine inductance (L), capacitance (C), and resistance (R) characteristics. The 4263B's listed applications include general bench-top impedance measurements, transformer testing, coil characterization, and electrolytic capacitor evaluation. With Option 001, the instrument adds turns-ratio, mutual inductance, and DC resistance measurement functions for transformer evaluation. The datasheet's electrolytic capacitor section highlights the built-in DC bias source, high-energy protection on the terminals, and fast system measurements for production throughput.

ValueTronics International has supplied new and pre-owned electronic test and measurement equipment to engineering, calibration, and production teams since 1992. The 4263B LCR meters in our catalog are stored, inspected, and tested at our 20,000 sq ft secure facility at 1675 Cambridge Drive, Elgin, Illinois, where our in-house technical staff verifies functionality against published specifications before any unit ships. Working directly with a stocking source — rather than a drop-ship broker or unverified marketplace listing — gives buyers a single accountable point of contact for condition questions, accessory completeness, calibration status, and post-sale support.

Brand Heritage

The 4263B was originally a Hewlett-Packard product. In 1999, HP spun off its test and measurement business as Agilent Technologies, and in 2014 Agilent's electronic measurement division was transferred to Keysight Technologies, which today supports the legacy Agilent T&M catalog. Buyers may encounter this instrument labeled as either HP or Agilent depending on production date; both branding generations are functionally the same product line.

Important: Test cable length settings are frequency-dependent: 4-meter cable operation is supported only at frequencies of 1 kHz or lower, and 2-meter cable operation is supported only at frequencies of 10 kHz or lower (20 kHz with Option 002). The full 100 kHz frequency range is available only with 0 or 1 meter cables.Important: Test fixtures are not furnished as standard with the 4263B. Select the appropriate fixture or test leads (e.g., 16034E/G/H, 16043A/B, 16044A, 16047A/E, 16048 series, 16060A, 16089 series) separately based on your DUT geometry.Important: Operation manual is not furnished as standard. One of the language options (e.g., 4263B-ABA for U.S. English) must be specified for the manual.Important: For the 16044A test fixture, one of the language options (ABA or ABJ) must be specified for the operation manual for shipment with product.Important: For the 16047E axial and radial test fixture, one of the language options (ABA or ABJ) must be specified for the operation manual for shipment with product.Important: Rack flange (4263B-1CM) and handle kit (4263B-1CN) are not compatible and cannot be ordered together.Recommended pairing: when measuring transformers, the Agilent 16060A Transformer Test Fixture provides fast connections for use with the 4263B's Option 001 N/M/DCR measurement functions. For surface-mount components, the 16034E/G/H series test fixtures are listed in the datasheet's accessory line.
