The Agilent 4284A Precision LCR Meter is a benchtop impedance measurement instrument covering a test frequency range from 20 Hz to 1 MHz across 8,610 selectable frequencies with ±0.01% frequency accuracy. The instrument uses a four-terminal pair measurement configuration and presents results across the parameter set |Z|, |Y|, L, C, R, G, D, Q, Rs, Rp, X, B, and phase angle θ, with parallel and series equivalent circuit models user-selectable.
Per the published specifications, the 4284A supports component characterization and incoming inspection workflows that require precise L, C, and R measurements across frequency. The included list sweep function allows up to 10 programmable frequency or test signal level points to be executed in single or sequential test, and the built-in comparator provides ten-bin sorting on the primary measurement parameter with IN/OUT decision output on the secondary parameter — supporting component sorting applications referenced in the datasheet's comparator function description.
ValueTronics International stocks, tests, and ships the Agilent 4284A from our 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Unlike drop-ship resellers who never physically handle the instruments they sell, our technicians inspect every 4284A in-house against the manufacturer's published performance criteria before it reaches a customer's bench — which means the LCR meter you order is a unit whose condition has been verified by people you can call.
The 4284A was originally introduced under the Hewlett-Packard brand. HP's test and measurement business was spun off as Agilent Technologies in 1999, and Agilent's electronic measurement division subsequently became Keysight Technologies in 2014. Datasheets, calibration support, and the product line for this instrument trace through that lineage.
