The Keysight U2300A Series is a family of USB-connected modular multifunction data acquisition (DAQ) devices delivering PC-based measurement across two product groups. The basic multifunction family includes the U2351A, U2352A, U2353A, and U2354A with 16 single-ended (8 differential) channels at 250 kSa/s or 500 kSa/s. The high-density multifunction family includes the U2355A, U2356A, and U2331A with 64 single-ended (32 differential) channels, scaling up to 3 MSa/s single-channel sampling on the U2331A. Each device combines analog input, digital I/O, counter/timer, and on select models analog output and waveform generation in a single compact USB module.
The U2300A Series is positioned for research and development, manufacturing test, and design validation environments where multi-parameter electrical measurements must be acquired, logged, and analyzed on a host PC. Specific use cases called out for the family include applications spanning industrial and education settings where fast sampling, channel density, and flexible trigger configuration are required. The optional U2802A 31-channel thermocouple input signal conditioner extends the U2355A and U2356A into temperature measurement for product thermal analysis and characterization, environmental chamber profiling, process monitoring in consumer electronics, material properties testing, study of electronic temperature properties, and appliance testing using J, K, R, S, T, N, E, and B thermocouple types per the NIST ITS-90 database.
Keysight Technologies was spun off from Agilent Technologies in 2014, and Agilent had earlier been separated from Hewlett-Packard in 1999 as the test and measurement business. Instruments in the U2300A Series carry the engineering and calibration lineage of the HP and Agilent T&M heritage and are supported through Keysight's current service network.
The U2300A Series is divided by the datasheet into two product groups. The basic multifunction USB DAQ family — U2351A, U2352A, U2353A, U2354A — provides 16 single-ended (8 differential) channels with 16-bit resolution and sample rates of either 250 kSa/s (U2351A, U2352A) or 500 kSa/s (U2353A, U2354A). The high-density multifunction USB DAQ family — U2355A, U2356A, U2331A — provides 64 single-ended (32 differential) channels, with the U2355A at 16-bit/250 kSa/s, the U2356A at 16-bit/500 kSa/s, and the U2331A at 12-bit/3 MSa/s (single channel) or 1 MSa/s (multiple channels).
All seven models share a common architectural foundation: 24-bit programmable digital I/O, two general-purpose up/down counters, internal and external trigger options including SSI/Star trigger for chassis-based multi-module synchronization, Hi-Speed USB 2.0 with USBTMC-USB488, SCPI/IVI-COM programming, and self-calibration against a 5 V on-board reference. The model differences come down to channel density, ADC resolution and sample rate, and whether analog output is included.
Each pre-owned model below is its own dedicated product page with its own pricing, availability, and accessories list. Confirm the configuration that matches your channel count, sample rate, resolution, and analog output requirement before ordering.
The most consequential differences across the family are channel count, sample rate, and ADC resolution. Channel count splits cleanly: 16 SE / 8 DI on the basic family, 64 SE / 32 DI on the high-density family. Sample rate steps through 250 kSa/s (U2351A, U2352A, U2355A), 500 kSa/s (U2353A, U2354A, U2356A), and 3 MSa/s single-channel / 1 MSa/s multi-channel (U2331A). ADC resolution is 16-bit on every model except the U2331A, which trades resolution for speed at 12-bit.
Analog output presence is the other axis. The U2351A, U2353A, U2355A, U2356A, and U2331A include two analog output channels with 1 MSa/s update rate and predefined sine/square/triangle/sawtooth/noise waveform generation. The U2352A and U2354A omit analog output entirely — choose these when the application is input-only and the AO channels would go unused. Output resolution is 16-bit on the U2351A, U2353A, U2355A, and U2356A, and 12-bit on the U2331A.
| Model | Analog Input Channels | Max Sampling Rate | AI Resolution |

| U2351A | 16 SE/8 DI | 250 kSa/s | 16 bits |
| U2352A | 16 SE/8 DI | 250 kSa/s | 16 bits |
| U2353A | 16 SE/8 DI | 500 kSa/s | 16 bits |
