The Agilent U1610A/U1620A is a handheld digital oscilloscope built around a 5.7-inch VGA display and two channel-to-channel isolated inputs. It pairs 100/200 MHz bandwidth with floating measurement capability on two CAT III 600 V isolated channels, and reaches up to 2 GSa/s sampling with 2 Mpts of memory depth to capture waveforms from signals such as pulse-width-modulated circuits, in-rush, transient, and motor start-up sequences. A benchtop-like display and dual-window zoom let an operator identify problem areas and zoom in for more detailed analysis.

An oscilloscope of this type displays voltage against time so an engineer can see a signal's amplitude, timing, and shape. Because each channel is individually isolated from the other and from non-isolated system components, technicians can take floating measurements and work with high-voltage and transient signals directly in the field. The waveform types called out for this instrument are pulse-width-modulated circuits, in-rush currents, transients, and motor start-up sequences, captured as non-repeating events over a wider time base.

ValueTronics stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000-square-foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois, giving buyers a single accountable source for both new and pre-owned test equipment. Every used unit is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer.

Brand Heritage

Agilent Technologies began as the test-and-measurement business of Hewlett-Packard, which spun it off as an independent company in 1999. In 2014, that electronic measurement business was renamed Keysight Technologies. This instrument and its specifications were published under the Agilent Technologies name.

Compare Other Models in This Series

The U1610A/U1620A handheld oscilloscope family comprises two models that share the same isolated dual-channel architecture, 5.7-inch VGA TFT LCD display, integrated 10,000-count digital multimeter, and CAT III 600 V channel-to-channel isolation. Both deliver floating-measurement capability and the same indoor, outdoor, and night-vision viewing modes.

What separates the two models is acquisition performance: the U1610A provides 100 MHz bandwidth while the U1620A provides 200 MHz, with corresponding differences in maximum sample rate and memory depth. The trigger set, multimeter, math functions, and display system are common to both.

Each pre-owned model below is its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Select the model whose bandwidth and acquisition specifications match your application, then choose the listing that fits your required condition and budget.

The U1620A is specified at 200 MHz bandwidth, up to 2 GSa/s interleaved sample rate (1 GSa/s per channel), and up to 2 Mpts of interleaved memory depth, with a fastest timebase of 2 ns/div, 40 ps timebase resolution, and 1.75 ns typical calculated rise time.

The comparison table that follows lists the model-by-model differences. The U1610A is specified at 100 MHz bandwidth, 1 GSa/s interleaved (500 MSa/s per channel) sample rate, and 120 Kpts interleaved memory depth, with a fastest timebase of 5 ns/div, 100 ps timebase resolution, and 3.50 ns typical calculated rise time.

The U1620A doubles the bandwidth to 200 MHz and raises the interleaved sample rate to 2 GSa/s and interleaved memory depth to 2 Mpts, with a 2 ns/div fastest timebase, 40 ps resolution, and 1.75 ns typical rise time. Aside from these acquisition figures, the two models are functionally identical.

Model Bandwidth Sample Rate Memory Depth
U1620A 200 MHz 2 GSa/s interleaved, 1 GSa/s per channel 2 Mpts/channel (interleave), 1 Mpts/channel (non-interleave)
U1610A 100 MHz 1 GSa/s interleaved, 500 MSa/s per channel 120 Kpts/channel (interleave), 60 Kpts/channel (non-interleave)

Additional differences in specifications beyond the few shown above are not listed here — see each model's full specifications below.
