The Tektronix TDS600C series brings together two four-channel digital storage oscilloscopes — the TDS694C and the TDS684C — built to capture the fastest signals in today's digital designs with high fidelity and resolution. The TDS694C delivers 3 GHz of bandwidth to preserve fast rising edges and accurately show signal detail, while digitizing at 10 GS/s simultaneously on all four channels. Paired with a high-stability timebase, it makes critical timing measurements — including channel-to-channel measurements captured in a single acquisition — with high resolution and accuracy.
These oscilloscopes are aimed at the validation and characterization of high-speed digital designs: verifying simulation performance with real measurements, ensuring that desired design margins exist, making jitter measurements on high-speed data, phase-locked loops and spread-spectrum clock circuits, and capturing glitches, cross-talk and setup/hold violations. In telecommunications and data communications design they characterize rise times, overshoot and channel-to-channel timing and verify and test high-speed serial data streams. They also serve high-energy physics work for transient event capture.
ValueTronics supports every TDS600C order from our own 20,000-square-foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois, where we stock and hold our inventory on hand. Every pre-owned unit is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer.
Tektronix, Inc. was founded in 1946 in Beaverton, Oregon, and built its name on oscilloscope technology. The company was acquired by Danaher Corporation in 2007 and became part of Fortive Corporation after Fortive was spun off from Danaher in 2016.
The Tektronix TDS600C series consists of two four-channel color digital storage oscilloscopes, the TDS694C and the TDS684C, that share a common advanced trigger architecture, measurement system and color display while differing in bandwidth, sample rate and several vertical and timebase specifications.
Both models deliver full-bandwidth single-shot capture on all four channels simultaneously, along with the same 29 automatic measurements, waveform math and pass/fail template testing, so the choice between them comes down to the signal speed and timing resolution each application requires.
Each model in the series below is its own dedicated pre-owned product page with condition-matched pricing. Select the model and configuration whose bandwidth, sample rate and input characteristics match your measurement requirements.
The TDS694C is the higher-bandwidth member of the series, providing 3 GHz of bandwidth and 10 GS/s on every channel, a ±10 ppm timebase, approximately ±15 ps time interval measurement accuracy, 1% vertical accuracy and 100 ps peak detect. It supports cross triggering with a Tektronix TLA700 logic analyzer and an optional 120,000-point long record length, and uses the P6249 4 GHz active probe as its companion.
The principal differences follow the bandwidth tiers shown in the comparison table: the TDS694C provides 3 GHz bandwidth with 10 GS/s per channel, while the TDS684C provides 1 GHz bandwidth with 5 GS/s per channel. Record length also differs — up to 15,000 points per channel on the TDS684C versus up to 30,000 points (optionally 120,000) on the TDS694C — as do time interval measurement accuracy and timebase accuracy, which tighten to ±10 ppm on the TDS694C.
The models also differ in vertical and input flexibility: the TDS684C offers 1 mV/div to 10 V/div sensitivity, selectable 20 MHz, 250 MHz and full bandwidth limits, AC/DC/GND coupling and both 1 MΩ and 50 Ω inputs, while the TDS694C uses a 50 Ω DC-coupled input at 10 mV/div to 1 V/div with full bandwidth only. Video triggering and several passive-probe options are available on the TDS684C but not the TDS694C, whereas 100 ps peak detect and TLA cross triggering are exclusive to the TDS694C.

Important: Maximum input voltage: 300 V CAT II (±400 V peak), derated at 20 dB/decade above 1 MHz; the TDS694C is limited to 5 VRMS.
Important: Measurement probes are not included in the standard configuration (which supplies only manuals, power cord, front cover, deskew fixture, footswitch and accessory pouch). The TDS694C's companion probe is the P6249 4 GHz Active Probe; recommended accessories include the P6249 4 GHz Active Probe, P6248 1.7 GHz Differential Probe, P6330 3.5 GHz Differential Probe and SureFoot surface mount device interconnects.
Important: The maximum record length of 120,000 points/channel applies only to the TDS694C with the long record length option (Opt. 1M); the TDS684C maximum is 15,000 points/channel.
Important: Option AC (China power plug) is not available for the TDS694C.
Recommended pairing: the P6249 4 GHz active probe is the TDS694C's companion probe, sized to contact fine-pitch, high-density boards with a short ground connection that preserves maximum system bandwidth.
