The most visible differences across the family are attenuation and bandwidth. The P6101B is a 1X probe rated to 15 MHz, while the remaining models are 10X probes ranging from 100 MHz (P6109B, P6112, P3010) through 200 MHz (P6111B, P6117) up to 400 MHz on the P6114B. Input characteristics track these tiers, with the 1X probe presenting 1 MΩ system input resistance and roughly 100 pF typical input capacitance, and the 10X probes presenting 10 MΩ with typical input capacitance near 13 to 14 pF.

Readout support and host-instrument compatibility further distinguish the models: certain probes are readout-coded for scopes that display attenuation automatically, and each model lists the specific Tektronix oscilloscopes it is matched to — for example the P6112 with the TDS200, the P6117 with the THS700, and the P3010 with the TDS3012/TDS3014 series.
