The Anritsu MG3710A is a vector signal generator covering 100 kHz to a maximum frequency of 2.7 GHz, 4 GHz, or 6 GHz depending on the installed RF option. It is offered with optional second-SG capability, allowing two independent signal generator paths within a single instrument chassis, and supports analog modulation (AM, FM, PM, pulse) alongside vector modulation for digitally modulated signals.

The MG3710A is used for transmitter and receiver testing across multiple wireless standards documented in this datasheet, including W-CDMA, GSM/EDGE, CDMA2000/1xEV-DO, LTE FDD, 802.11a/g, 802.11n, and 802.16e Mobile WiMAX. Adjacent Channel Leakage Ratio (ACLR) and Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) performance is characterized for each of these standards in the datasheet, supporting applications in cellular base station and mobile device development, WLAN device characterization, and general RF component evaluation.

Important: Reverse Input Power maximum: ±50 VDC (max.). Without the Reverse Power Protection option (MG3710A-043/073), the RF output port is rated for 2 W reverse power; with the Reverse Power Protection option installed, the rating is 20 W between 1 MHz and 2 GHz, and 10 W between 2 GHz and 6 GHz.Important: The MG3710A is offered with multiple mutually-exclusive 1st SG frequency options (MG3710A-032/034/036) and optional 2nd SG frequency options (MG3710A-062/064/066). One 1st SG option must be selected at order; the upper frequency limit of the configured unit is determined by which option is installed.Important: Specified output level upper limits depend on which Power Extension and Reverse Power Protection options are installed (MG3710A-041/042/043 for 1st SG; MG3710A-071/072/073 for 2nd SG). Refer to the Output Level and Level Accuracy tables for the configuration-specific limits.Important: Frequency Offset of ±(200 MHz × 0.8 – waveform data bandwidth) ÷ 2 and 200 MHz Internal Baseband Reference Clock are supported only with firmware version 2.00.00 and later, and only when using MX370111A WLAN IQproducer and MX370111A-002 802.11ac (160 MHz) option.Important: Baseband Reference Input/Output frequencies of 560 MHz to 800 MHz (BB Ref Sync) require firmware Version 2.00.00 and later.
