The DPO/DSA70000 Series from Tektronix is a family of real-time digital phosphor oscilloscopes (the DPO70000 models) and dedicated digital serial analyzers (the DSA70000 models) built for engineers verifying, characterizing, debugging and testing sophisticated electronic designs. The two lines share the same acquisition architecture: the DPO70000 instruments deliver high-bandwidth waveform acquisition and analysis, while the specialized DSA70000 analyzers add a complete, dedicated solution for the challenges of high-speed serial designs. Both lines combine signal acquisition performance, operational simplicity, and an extensive set of debugging tools in a single benchtop instrument.
These instruments are applied to signal integrity, jitter and timing analysis; verification, debug and characterization of sophisticated designs; debugging and compliance testing of serial data streams for telecom and datacom industry standards; investigation of transient phenomena; and spectral analysis. The DSA70000 configuration is specifically targeted at high-speed serial design issues, encapsulating extended serial data domain expertise for verifying, characterizing, debugging and testing serial designs.
ValueTronics operates a 20,000-square-foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois, where it stocks and holds its own inventory of test and measurement equipment. Every pre-owned unit is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships; new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer.
The DPO/DSA70000 Series is offered in two parallel lines built on the same advanced acquisition technology. The DPO70000 line comprises real-time digital phosphor oscilloscopes for verifying, characterizing, debugging and testing sophisticated electronic designs, while the DSA70000 line comprises dedicated digital serial analyzers that inherit the same signal acquisition performance, operational simplicity and debugging tools but add extended high-speed serial data domain expertise.
Within each line, the models are distinguished primarily by bandwidth tier, with versions spanning 4, 6, 8, 12.5, 16 and 20 GHz on all four channels. Each model is a separate product page; the comparison table below summarizes how bandwidth, sample rate, rise time and record-length options differ across the family.
Each pre-owned model linked below is its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Select the bandwidth tier and DPO or DSA configuration that fits your application, then review that specific model's page for its pricing and availability.
The models differ first by bandwidth, from 4 GHz on the DPO70404/DSA70404 up to 20 GHz on the DPO72004/DSA72004, with corresponding rise-time figures improving across the tiers. Sample rate also tracks the tier: the 4, 6 and 8 GHz models provide 25 GS/s on all four channels, while the 12.5, 16 and 20 GHz models provide 50 GS/s on all four channels. Record-length options likewise scale, with up to 100 M samples available on the 4, 6 and 8 GHz models and up to 200 M samples available on the 12.5, 16 and 20 GHz models.
The DPO70000 and DSA70000 lines also differ in standard configuration: standard record length is 10 M samples per channel on the DPO70000 line versus 20 M on the DSA70000 line, and capabilities such as serial pattern triggering, protocol decode and serial data compliance and analysis are standard on the DSA70000 line but offered as licensed options on the DPO70000 line. Refer to the comparison table that follows for the exact per-model values.
| Model | Bandwidth | Sample Rate | Max Record Length (Std) |
|---|---|---|---|
| DPO71254 | 12.5 GHz | 50 GS/s | 10 M/ch |
| DPO70404 | 4 GHz | 25 GS/s | 10 M/ch |
| DPO70604 | 6 GHz | 25 GS/s | 10 M/ch |
| DPO70804 | 8 GHz | 25 GS/s | 10 M/ch |

Important: Maximum input voltage (50 Ω): <5.5 VRMS for ≥1 V full scale; also determined by the TekConnect accessory.
Important: Probes are not included with the base instrument. An appropriate TekConnect-interface probe (e.g., P7516 16 GHz TriMode, P7513 13 GHz TriMode, P7313 13 GHz Z-Active differential, or P7380A 8 GHz Z-Active differential) must be ordered separately to connect to a device under test (see Recommended Accessories).
Important: Optional Ultra Wideband WiMedia Analysis (Opt. UWB) analyzes all data rates, Time Frequency Codes and Band Groups only on the DPO/DSA71604 or DPO/DSA72004 models.
Important: For Optional Power Measurement and Analysis (Opt. PWR), at least Opt. 2XL and a TCA-1MEG TekConnect 1 MΩ buffer amplifier are recommended for use.
Important: User must specify the quick start user manual language and the power plug when ordering.
Recommended pairing: use the P7516 or P7513 TriMode probes for bandwidth enhancement to the probe tip when capturing differential and single-ended signals.
