The Cal Test Electronics CT2700 is a high voltage DMM probe that extends the measurement range of a standard digital multimeter to voltages up to 40 kV DC (or 28 kVrms AC). Using a precision 1000:1 voltage divider, the probe scales high voltage inputs down to a level a standard meter can safely read — a 1,000 V input reads as 1 V on the DMM. Output is provided through 4 mm sheathed banana plugs designed to connect to any DMM with a minimum 10 MΩ input impedance.
The CT2700 is intended for high voltage measurement applications where a standard DMM lacks sufficient input range. With its 1000 MΩ input resistance and 300 Hz bandwidth, it is suited to DC and low-frequency AC voltage measurement on high voltage power supplies, transformers, and similar equipment. The retractable sheathed banana plug design and IEC 61010-031 CAT I rating reflect its intended use as a measurement accessory in controlled bench and lab environments.
