The Tektronix A621 and A622 are clamp-on current probes in the A600 Series, designed to support current measurements with the TekMeter or an oscilloscope. The A621 is an industrial-style clamp-on probe with a BNC connector that measures AC current. The A622 is a 'long nose' style clamp-on probe that uses a Hall Effect current sensor to provide a voltage output to oscilloscopes, and it measures both AC and DC current. Both probes terminate in a BNC connector and can be used with a shrouded banana plug adapter, so they work with digital multimeters, the TekMeter, and oscilloscopes.
A clamp-on current probe lets an engineer measure the current flowing through a conductor without breaking the circuit, sensing the conductor's magnetic field and converting it to a proportional voltage output. The A600 Series probes are designed for measurements on motor drives, inverters, power supplies, and avionics.

Tektronix, founded in 1946, was acquired by Danaher Corporation in 2007. In 2016 Danaher spun off its test and measurement portfolio into Fortive Corporation, of which Tektronix is now a part.
The A600 Series consists of two clamp-on current probes, the A621 and the A622, both designed to support current measurements with the TekMeter or an oscilloscope. The two models share a common clamp-on form factor and BNC termination but differ in coupling, current range, frequency range, and the maximum conductor diameter they accept.
The A621 is the industrial-style AC probe built for high-current measurement, while the A622 is a 'long nose' AC/DC probe that uses a Hall Effect sensor. Selecting between them comes down to whether DC content must be measured and the magnitude of the current involved.
Each new model below is listed on its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Select the model that matches your measurement requirements, then choose the configuration that fits your budget.
The clearest difference between the two models is coupling and range: the A621 measures AC current from 100 mA to 2000 A peak across 5 Hz to 50 kHz, whereas the A622 measures both AC and DC current from 50 mA to 100 A peak across DC to 100 kHz. The A622's Hall Effect current sensor is what enables its DC measurement capability.
The probes also differ physically. The A621 accepts conductors up to 54 mm (2.13 in.) in diameter and offers 1, 10, or 100 mV/A output scaling, while the A622 accepts conductors up to 11.8 mm (0.46 in.) and offers 10 or 100 mV/A scaling. Both share the same 600 V (CAT III) bare-wire voltage rating. See the comparison table below for a side-by-side summary.
| Model | Frequency Range | Max Input Current | Output |
|---|---|---|---|
| A621 | 5 Hz to 50 kHz | 2000 A peak | 1 mV/A, 10 mV/A, 100 mV/A |
| A622 | DC to 100 kHz | 100 A peak | 10 mV/A, 100 mV/A |
Additional differences in specifications beyond the few shown above are not listed here — see each model's full specifications below.

Important: For instruments with banana-jack inputs, the Tektronix 012-1450-00 Female BNC-to-banana lead adapter is required.
Recommended pairing: use these probes with Tektronix TPS2000, TDS1000B, TDS2000C, or TDS3000C Series oscilloscopes and DMM4020, DMM4040, or DMM4050 digital multimeters.
