The Agilent 6670A Series is a family of 2000 W single-output programmable DC power supplies designed for test system integration and demanding bench applications. The series includes five standard models — the 6671A, 6672A, 6673A, 6674A, and 6675A — each delivering the same 2000 W output power at a different voltage and current combination, ranging from 8 V at 220 A on the 6671A to 120 V at 18 A on the 6675A. Numerous special-order J-option variants extend the family with alternative voltage/current pairings such as 14 V/150 A, 24 V/85 A, 40 V/50 A, and 200 V/11 A configurations.
These supplies are positioned for applications requiring the combination of high output power, low ripple and noise, and programmable control. Typical use cases stated on the datasheet include test system integration with industry-standard SCPI commands over GPIB, automated test setups using VXIPlug&Play drivers, multi-supply chained installations through a single GPIB address using the serial link, and lab-bench applications where the fan-speed control and low acoustic noise are advantageous. Analog programming of output voltage and current is provided for noisy environments and fast process reaction requirements.
ValueTronics International has supplied new and pre-owned test instrumentation since 1992 from our 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive, Elgin, Illinois. Every {{CONDITION}} 6670A-series unit we ship is processed through our facility, where our technicians verify performance against the manufacturer's published specifications before the instrument leaves the building. That direct, hands-on accountability is the difference between buying from a stocking specialist and buying from a pass-through broker.
Hewlett-Packard's test and measurement business was spun out as Agilent Technologies in 1999. In 2014, Agilent's electronic measurement division was transferred to Keysight Technologies. Instruments originally branded Agilent — including the 6670A series 2000 W power supplies — therefore trace directly into the current Keysight product lineage.
The Agilent 6670A Series comprises five core 2000 W single-output GPIB-programmable DC power supplies that differ primarily in their voltage and current ratings. All five models share the same 2000 W output power envelope, the same chassis dimensions, the same GPIB and SCPI interface, the same protection features, and the same transient response specification of less than 900 µs to recover 100 mV after a 50%-to-100% load change.
The differentiation between models is the voltage/current trade-off. The 6671A delivers the highest current at the lowest voltage (8 V at 220 A), while the 6675A delivers the highest voltage at the lowest current (120 V at 18 A). Models in between scale through 20 V/100 A (6672A), 35 V/60 A (6673A), and 60 V/35 A (6674A). The model selected matches the voltage and current requirements of the device under test.
Each pre-owned 6670A-series model linked below is its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing and current availability. Use the comparison table to confirm the voltage and current rating required for your application, then navigate to the specific model page for purchasing detail.
The 6671A is the highest-current member of the family, with an 8 V output range and 220 A current capacity. It is the natural selection within this series when the device under test requires high current at low voltage — such as low-voltage high-current device testing, certain battery and electrochemical applications, and high-current semiconductor characterization.
Across the five models, programming accuracy, ripple and noise, load and line regulation, and readback accuracy all scale with the voltage/current rating. Programming resolution on voltage ranges from 2 mV on the 6671A to 30 mV on the 6675A. Voltage rms ripple and noise scales from 650 µV on the 6671A to 1.9 mV on the 6675A. Output voltage programming response time (full-load rise/fall, 10%–90%) ranges from 30 ms on the 6671A to 195 ms on the 6675A.
The comparison table that follows lists the headline voltage, current, programming accuracy, ripple/noise, and programming response time for each standard model in the series, allowing direct side-by-side review of the trade-offs at each rating point.
