The Agilent 33250A is an 80 MHz function/arbitrary waveform generator that uses direct digital synthesis techniques to create stable, accurate output across all waveforms down to 1 µHz frequency resolution. The instrument generates sine and square waves to 80 MHz, pulse waveforms to 50 MHz with variable edge times, ramp waveforms to 1 MHz, and arbitrary waveforms with 12-bit vertical resolution at a 200 MSa/s sample rate with 64K-point memory depth. Front-panel operation accommodates entry of voltage values in Vpp, Vrms, dBm, or high/low levels, and timing parameters in hertz or seconds.
The 33250A supports a broad range of signal generation tasks: standard waveform output (sine, square, ramp, pulse, noise, sin(x)/x, exponential rise, exponential fall, cardiac, and DC volts), custom arbitrary waveform generation with up to four 64K-deep waveforms storable in non-volatile memory under user-defined names, and pulse generation with variable edge time, pulse width, and voltage level. AM, FM, and FSK modulation are built in with internal or external modulation source, and linear or logarithmic frequency sweeps are supported with a programmable frequency marker signal. Burst operation is available with programmable burst count and gating.
ValueTronics maintains the 33250A in our 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive, Elgin, Illinois, where our technicians perform functional verification and condition grading on every unit before it ships. This in-house inspection capability distinguishes ValueTronics from drop-ship resellers and pass-through brokers who never physically handle the instruments they sell — when our condition report describes a 33250A, it reflects what our technician measured on that specific serial number, not a generic listing description.
Agilent Technologies was spun off from Hewlett-Packard's test and measurement business in 1999. In 2014, Agilent's electronic measurement division was further separated as Keysight Technologies, which now maintains support and calibration infrastructure for instruments originally manufactured under the Agilent and HP names. The 33250A traces directly to this lineage.
