The R&S FSU is a family of high-performance spectrum analyzers offered in models that span an upper frequency limit from 3.6 GHz (R&S FSU3) up to 67 GHz (R&S FSU67), all sharing a common 20 Hz lower frequency limit and 0.01 Hz frequency resolution. Each model presents a 50 Ω RF input that can be DC- or AC-coupled and derives its frequency reference from an internal OCXO, with measurement performance specified after a 30-minute warm-up under defined environmental conditions.
As a spectrum analyzer, the instrument captures and displays signal power across a swept frequency range, letting an engineer characterize spectral content, harmonics, phase noise, and modulation. The R&S FSU provides EMI filters at standard 6 dB bandwidths together with CISPR detectors (Quasi Peak, CISPR-RMS, CISPR-AV) for interference measurements, and a broad set of optional application firmware packages — for GSM/EDGE, 3GPP WCDMA (BTS and UE), TD-SCDMA, CDMA2000, Bluetooth, noise figure and gain, phase noise, and power sensor measurements — that extend the base analyzer to standard-specific testing. Each firmware package is a separately ordered option.
ValueTronics stocks and holds its inventory in a 20,000-square-foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Every used unit we sell is inspected and functionally verified in-house by our technicians before it ships, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer; in either case, our team can help match the right R&S FSU model to your frequency range and measurement requirements.
Rohde & Schwarz is an independent group of companies specializing in electronics and a leading supplier of test and measurement solutions. Established more than 75 years ago and headquartered in Munich, Germany, the company has operated under the Rohde & Schwarz name without a major corporate rebrand or acquisition-driven name change.
The R&S FSU series shares one specification platform across seven model designations that differ principally in maximum frequency coverage: R&S FSU3 (to 3.6 GHz), R&S FSU8 (to 8 GHz), R&S FSU26 (to 26.5 GHz), R&S FSU43 (to 43 GHz), R&S FSU46 (to 46 GHz), R&S FSU50 (to 50 GHz), and R&S FSU67 (to 67 GHz). All models begin at a 20 Hz lower frequency limit and share the same 0.01 Hz frequency resolution and core analyzer architecture.
Because the models share filter types, detectors, level architecture, and interfaces, the choice between them is driven mainly by the upper frequency a given application requires, together with the RF input connector and any preamplifier or external-mixer options compatible with that model.
Each pre-owned model linked below is its own product page with condition-matched pricing. Select the R&S FSU model whose frequency coverage and options fit your application, then choose the pre-owned listing that matches your budget and availability needs.
Beyond maximum frequency, the models differ in RF input connector — type N on the R&S FSU3 and R&S FSU8, a 3.5 mm/N test port adapter on the R&S FSU26, 2.92 mm (K)/N on the R&S FSU43 and R&S FSU46, 2.4 mm/N on the R&S FSU50, and 1.85 mm (V) on the R&S FSU67 — and in nominal weight, from 14.6 kg on the R&S FSU3 to 17.4 kg on the R&S FSU67. See the comparison table for the per-model values.
Resolution-bandwidth coverage and certain options also vary by model: the R&S FSU43, R&S FSU50, and the .49/.66 model variants top out at a 10 MHz maximum resolution bandwidth (with a 10 MHz maximum bandwidth), while other models extend higher, and the external-mixer ports (R&S FSU-B21) apply only to the R&S FSU26/43/46/50/67. Consult each model's row in the table to confirm exact coverage and option compatibility.

Important: Maximum input level: RF input AC coupled 50 V DC; CW RF power 20 dBm (0.1 W) at 0 dB RF attenuation and 30 dBm (1 W) at >= 10 dB RF attenuation; maximum pulse voltage 150 V at >= 10 dB RF attenuation.
Important: Specifications apply under the following conditions: 30 minutes warm-up time at ambient temperature, specified environmental conditions met, calibration cycle adhered to, and all internal automatic adjustments performed.
Important: Data without tolerances are typical values only. Data designated "nominal" applies to design parameters and is not tested.
Important: Mass memory uses a hard disk and a USB flash disk; the USB flash disk is not supplied.
Important: Recommended calibration interval: 2 years for operation with external reference, 1 year for operation with internal reference.
Recommended pairing: on the R&S FSU26/43/46/50/67, the R&S FSU-B21 LO/IF ports drive external R&S harmonic mixers (R&S FS-Z60, FS-Z75, FS-Z90, FS-Z110) to extend measurements from 40 GHz up to 110 GHz.
