The Rigol DSA1000 Series is a general-purpose spectrum analyzer covering 9 kHz to 3 GHz. Built around an all-digital IF core, it is designed to provide stable performance with a broad, easy-to-use set of test functions intended to meet most spectrum-related measurement and application requirements. Rigol positions it as a highly cost-effective instrument for stages spanning research and development through manufacturing and maintenance.
The series is aimed at maintenance, production, and education applications, and it supports work from research and development through manufacturing and maintenance. A spectrum analyzer of this type displays signal amplitude across frequency, letting an engineer characterize spectral content, identify individual signals, and measure their levels.
ValueTronics stocks and holds its own test-equipment inventory in a 20,000-square-foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Every used unit is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships, while new units leave the warehouse factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer. Because we hold inventory directly, the analyzer you order sits on our own shelves, ready to be prepared and shipped.
The DSA1000 Series comprises four ordering configurations of the same 9 kHz to 3 GHz spectrum analyzer: the DSA1030, the DSA1030-TG, the DSA1030A, and the DSA1030A-TG. All share the all-digital IF architecture, the 8.5-inch widescreen 800×480 display, and the standard Quasi-Peak detector with EMI filter.
The configurations differ along two axes the ordering guide makes explicit: whether a 3 GHz tracking generator is fitted (the -TG suffix) and whether the preamplifier and advanced measurement functions are included as standard (the A models) or remain options (the non-A models).
Each model below is its own dedicated product page with pre-owned-condition pricing. Select the configuration that matches the options you need, and review that page for its specific pre-owned availability and specifications.
The DSA1030A ships with the preamplifier and advanced measurement functions as standard. Its specified headline figures are a minimum 10 Hz resolution bandwidth, typical −88 dBc/Hz phase noise at a 10 kHz offset, displayed average noise level down to −148 dBm with the preamplifier on, and total amplitude uncertainty under 1.0 dB.
Across the family, the A configurations specify finer performance than the non-A configurations: a minimum resolution bandwidth of 10 Hz versus 100 Hz, typical phase noise of −88 dBc/Hz versus −80 dBc/Hz at a 10 kHz offset, and a lower displayed average noise level. The preamplifier and advanced measurement functions are standard on the A models and are offered as the PA-DSA1030 and AMK-DSA1000 options on the DSA1030 and DSA1030-TG.
The -TG suffix adds a 3 GHz tracking generator (10 MHz to 3 GHz output, −20 dBm to 0 dBm) to either base model. The comparison table below summarizes which capabilities are standard, optional, or absent for each ordering number.

Important: Maximum rated input: 50 V DC and 30 dBm (1 W) CW RF power at ≥20 dB RF attenuation; maximum damage level 40 dBm (10 W). When the input level exceeds 33 dBm, the protection switch engages.
Important: USB Disk for the mass memory is not supplied with the instrument.
Important: RF test cables, adaptors, antennas and attenuators are offered as Optional Accessories and are not included in the standard delivery (standard accessories: Front Panel Cover, Quick Guide, CDROM, USB Data Cable, and Power Cable). Order the appropriate RF cable/adaptor for your measurement connection separately.
Important: GPIB (IEC/IEEE Bus, IEEE 488.2) remote control requires the optional USB-GPIB interface converter.
Important: The Advanced Measurement Kit is an option for the DSA1030 and DSA1030-TG and is standard on the DSA1030A and DSA1030A-TG; the preamplifier is standard on the DSA1030A/DSA1030A-TG and an option (PA-DSA1030) for the DSA1030/DSA1030-TG.
Usage tip: the DSA1030 and DSA1030-TG can add the advanced measurement functions through the optional Advanced Measurement Kit (AMK-DSA1000) and a preamplifier through the PA-DSA1030 option.
