In summary, the Keysight N6709C is the rack mount kit required to install any N6700 family mainframe (N6700C, N6701C, N6702C) into a 19-inch equipment rack. It supplies the front rack ears and rear supports that replace the standard rack rails and slides, which are not compatible with the N6700 because of its 1U size and airflow requirements.

The N6700 vents air from the sides rather than the top or bottom. A generic 1U slide or rail set sits flush against the chassis sides and obstructs cooling. The N6709C is engineered to clear those vents and to land on the rear panel without interfering with the I/O ports used for cross-mainframe sequencing.
Industry standard 19-inch racks hold up to 42U or 48U; one N6709C kit secures one mainframe in 1U. A fully populated 24-bay rack of N6700 mainframes — each holding up to 4 channels — yields up to 96 independent programmable outputs in a single bay. The N6709C does not consume additional rack space beyond the 1U the mainframe itself occupies.
Each module is supplied with the quick-disconnect plugs needed to wire to the mainframe’s output and sense terminals. Relay and high-speed test extension features are factory-installed options (see below) and are not field-installable accessories.
