View full details

The Keysight InfiniiVision HD3 Series is a portable oscilloscope line that brings high-performance measurement capability into a high-volume, bench-portable form factor across a 200 MHz to 1 GHz bandwidth span. It leverages custom hardware technology drawn from the UXR Series, including a custom 14-bit ADC and a low-noise front end, delivering four times the vertical accuracy and half the noise floor of the prior generation, paired with twenty-five times more memory. The result is an instrument built to capture small signals with high vertical resolution and present a realistic view of the signals inside a device.

With its 14-bit architecture and built-in bandwidth filters, the HD3 is designed to analyze every signal in a design with high vertical accuracy, resolving small signals — such as a 2 µV, –100 dBm tone in an FFT — that would be lost in a higher-noise-floor instrument. The series supports mixed-signal work through 16 integrated digital channels, and the Fault Hunter application automatically evaluates a signal's characteristics against user-definable criteria to find and log errors over test windows ranging from a few minutes up to two days. Optional licensed software extends the platform to embedded serial decode and triggering (I2C, SPI, and UART/RS-232/422/485) and to automotive buses (CAN, CAN FD, CAN XL, and LIN).

ValueTronics has supplied new and used test and measurement equipment since 1992, holding its own stock in a 20,000-square-foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Because we carry our inventory in-house, every order ships from equipment we hold and control.

Brand Heritage

Keysight Technologies traces its test and measurement heritage to Hewlett-Packard, whose instrument business was spun off as Agilent Technologies in 1999 and then established as Keysight Technologies in 2014. Instruments carrying the Keysight name continue a measurement lineage that spans the Hewlett-Packard and Agilent eras.

Compare Other Models in This Series

The InfiniiVision HD3 Series comprises two models that share a common architecture and differ in analog channel count: the HD302MSO with two analog channels and the HD304MSO with four. Both models include 16 digital channels with the MSO interface enabled as standard, and both come standard with a minimum 200 MHz bandwidth.

Across the series, the custom 14-bit ADC, low-noise front end, 3.2 GSa/s sample rate, up to 100 Mpts of per-channel memory, and the MegaZoom 5 ASIC are shared. The models are configured by selecting analog channel count first, then layering bandwidth, memory, and software licenses to match the application.

Each new model in the HD3 Series is listed on its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Select the model and configuration that fits your requirement, and review the comparison table below to confirm the analog channel count and configuration before ordering.

The primary difference between the two models is analog channel count: the HD302MSO provides two analog channels and the HD304MSO provides four, while both carry the same 16 digital channels. The comparison table below details the per-model specifications.

Bandwidth is selectable across the series at 200 MHz, 350 MHz, 500 MHz, and 1 GHz, with corresponding calculated rise times, and is set by license rather than by hardware exchange. Capture memory is likewise configurable from a standard 20 Mpts to 50 Mpts or 100 Mpts per channel, so two units of the same model number can differ in bandwidth and memory according to the licenses applied.

Model Standard Bandwidth (upgradeable to 1 GHz) Analog Channels Digital Channels
HD302MSO 200 MHz 2 16
HD304MSO 200 MHz 4 16

Additional differences in specifications beyond the few shown above are not listed here — see each model's full specifications below.

Important: Maximum input voltage: 135 Vrms; 190 Vpk. Use this instrument only for measurements within its specified measurement category (not rated for CAT II, III, IV); no transient overvoltage allowed.
Important: Probing technology allows testing of higher voltages; for example, the included N2843A 10:1 probe supports testing up to 300 Vrms.
Important: The 16 digital channel MSO cable (HD3MSO) is listed as an optional accessory and is not part of the standard delivery (the base unit ships with N2843A passive probes only); it must be ordered separately to connect the instrument's 16 digital MSO channels.
Important: Standard memory depth is 20 Mpts/channel; 50 Mpts and 100 Mpts depths are available as license-only upgrades. Check your instrument's configuration for the installed depth on this unit.
Usage tip: the HD3 includes the N2843A 500 MHz 10:1 passive probe (one per channel); add the HD3MSO 16-channel digital cable to enable mixed-signal probing on the 16 digital channels.
