The ILX Lightwave LDT-5525 is a precision thermoelectric temperature controller optimized for temperature control of laser diodes and photodetectors. It delivers up to 4 A of bipolar output current to a TE module with up to 24 W of output power, and provides direct temperature readout from thermistors and IC temperature sensors. The instrument uses an advanced hybrid smart-integrator control algorithm to maintain temperature stability typically within ±0.004°C, and can be operated in constant temperature, constant sensor resistance, or constant current mode.

According to the datasheet, the LDT-5525 is designed for temperature control of laser diodes and photodetectors, including laser diode applications requiring highly stable wavelength and optical power. The instrument is well suited to driving a TE module against a thermal load such as an ILX Lightwave LDM-4412 laser diode mount, where its bipolar output and limit-protected control loop hold the device at a stable setpoint. A temperature controller of this class provides the closed-loop thermal regulation that keeps an optoelectronic device's operating point fixed once the test setup is in place.

ValueTronics stocks and tests this controller in our 20,000 sq ft secure facility at 1675 Cambridge Drive, Elgin, Illinois. Each pre-owned LDT-5525 passes through our in-house inspection and performance verification before it ships, which is the workflow that lets us stand behind the unit with documented condition rather than a third-party listing description. That accountability — owning the warehouse, the testing bench, and the support phone line under one roof — is the distinction between buying from ValueTronics and buying from a drop-shipper or pass-through broker.

Important: Stability and accuracy figures are referenced to specific conditions: half-scale output controlling an LDM-4412 mount at 25°C with a 10 kΩ thermistor on the 100 µA setting. Actual temperature control range depends primarily on the thermal load, sensor, and TE module used.Important: Output current and power rated into a 1Ω load.Important: Actual temperature control range depends primarily on the thermal load, sensor, and TE module used.Important: Accuracy figures quoted are for a typical 10kΩ thermistor and 100µA setting. Accuracy figures are relative to the calibration standard. Both resolution and accuracy are dependent on the user-defined configuration of the instrument.Important: 6V compliance guaranteed. Compliance voltage up to 8V (32W) is typical. Higher output powers can also be accommodated with the use of an external booster. Contact ILX Lightwave for further information.Important: RTD sensor support requires the optional TSC-599 Temperature Sensor Converter (sold separately).Recommended pairing: the CC-505S TE Controller/Laser Diode Mount Interconnect Cable connects the LDT-5525 to an ILX Lightwave laser diode mount, and the included TS-510 calibrated 10 kΩ thermistor (±0.2°C) provides the matching sensor for closed-loop temperature control.
