The ILX Lightwave LDT-5525 is a precision thermoelectric temperature controller optimized for temperature control of laser diodes and photodetectors. It delivers up to 4 A of bipolar output current to a TE module with up to 24 W of output power, and provides direct temperature readout from thermistors and IC temperature sensors. The instrument uses an advanced hybrid smart-integrator control algorithm to maintain temperature stability typically within ±0.004°C, and can be operated in constant temperature, constant sensor resistance, or constant current mode.
According to the datasheet, the LDT-5525 is designed for temperature control of laser diodes and photodetectors, including laser diode applications requiring highly stable wavelength and optical power. The instrument is well suited to driving a TE module against a thermal load such as an ILX Lightwave LDM-4412 laser diode mount, where its bipolar output and limit-protected control loop hold the device at a stable setpoint. A temperature controller of this class provides the closed-loop thermal regulation that keeps an optoelectronic device's operating point fixed once the test setup is in place.
ValueTronics stocks and tests this controller in our 20,000 sq ft secure facility at 1675 Cambridge Drive, Elgin, Illinois. Each pre-owned LDT-5525 passes through our in-house inspection and performance verification before it ships, which is the workflow that lets us stand behind the unit with documented condition rather than a third-party listing description. That accountability — owning the warehouse, the testing bench, and the support phone line under one roof — is the distinction between buying from ValueTronics and buying from a drop-shipper or pass-through broker.
