The HT Italia PQA823 is a professional three-phase power quality analyzer designed to evaluate electrical installations against the EN 50160 supply-voltage characteristics standard. The instrument is a handheld, battery-powered unit (Li-ION, 3.7 V, greater than 6 hours of battery life) built around a 320x240 color TFT touchscreen that uses an icon-driven interface and on-screen synoptic connection schematics to guide users through wiring the analyzer to single-phase or three-phase systems.
The datasheet positions the PQA823 for the measurements typically required during EN 50160 power-quality surveys: phase-to-phase, phase-to-neutral, and phase-to-ground TRMS voltages, phase and neutral TRMS currents, active/reactive/apparent power and energy, power factor, voltage and current harmonics through the 49th order, voltage anomalies (sags and swells) with 10 ms resolution, flicker, voltage unbalance, and inrush current events. A vectorial diagram view displays the mutual phase relationships between voltage and current phasors during commissioning and troubleshooting.
ValueTronics International stores and tests this analyzer in our 20,000 square foot secure facility at 1675 Cambridge Drive, Elgin, Illinois. Every new PQA823 we ship is processed by our technical team in-house — not drop-shipped from a third-party warehouse — so the unit you receive has been physically handled and prepared by the same group that prepared the listing.
HT Italia S.r.l. is an Italian test-and-measurement manufacturer headquartered in Faenza (Ravenna), Italy. The company has operated under the HT Italia name continuously and has not been the subject of a major rebranding or acquisition affecting this product family.
The HT Italia PQA800 family is a pair of professional three-phase power quality analyzers built on a common handheld touchscreen platform. Both models are designed for EN 50160 supply-voltage surveys and share the same TRMS voltage and current measurement ranges, harmonic analysis through the 49th order, flicker, unbalance, anomaly capture at 10 ms resolution, and inrush current recording capabilities.
The two models differ in one specific capability area called out on the datasheet's model-comparison table: voltage spike and fast transient capture at 5 microsecond resolution. The remainder of the measurement set — including all TRMS, power, energy, harmonic, flicker, unbalance, and anomaly functions — is identical between the two units.
Each model in the PQA800 family is listed on its own product page with condition-matched pricing. The new PQA823 shown here is offered as a distinct line item from the PQA824; review the comparison table below to confirm which feature set matches your measurement requirements before selecting a model.
The PQA823 covers the complete EN 50160 measurement set — TRMS voltages and currents, power and energy, harmonics through the 49th order, flicker, unbalance, voltage anomalies at 10 ms resolution, and inrush current events. The datasheet's model-comparison table indicates that voltage spike and fast transient capture at 5 microsecond resolution is the feature that distinguishes the higher PQA824 model from this unit.
Within the PQA800 family the differentiator called out in the datasheet's feature-by-model table is voltage spike and fast transient capture: the PQA824 adds detection of voltage spikes on phase-to-ground inputs with 5 microsecond timing resolution, configurable spike thresholds from 100 V to 5000 V, and storage for up to 20,000 spike events, while the PQA823 does not include this capability.
All other listed measurements — phase-phase, phase-neutral, and phase-ground TRMS voltages, DC voltages, phase and neutral TRMS currents, DC currents, power factor, active/reactive/apparent power and energy, DC power, voltage and current harmonics through the 49th order, voltage anomalies with 10 ms resolution, flicker per EN 50160, voltage unbalance per EN 50160, and inrush current capture — are common to both models per the datasheet's comparison table.
