The Fluke Networks DSX CableAnalyzer Series is the copper certification module of the Versiv cabling certification platform. Two modules anchor the series: the DSX-8000, which certifies twisted-pair cabling up to Cat 8 and Class I/II at 2000 MHz, and the DSX-5000, which certifies up to Cat 6A and Class FA at 1000 MHz. Both modules share the Versiv main unit, the Taptive touchscreen interface, the ProjX management system, and the LinkWare PC and LinkWare Live software ecosystem.
The DSX is built for cabling contractors and network installers who certify structured copper plants against TIA and ISO/IEC standards. Listed applications include certification of horizontal and backbone cabling for network deployments up to 40 Gigabit Ethernet, Modular Plug Terminated Link (MPTL) certification using a patch cord adapter on one end and a permanent link on the other, integrated Alien Crosstalk measurement up to 40GBASE-T, and balance measurements (TCL and ELTCTL) that matter most in industrial environments where electromagnetic interference is elevated. The DSX-8000 is the only DSX module that handles Cat 8 and Class I/II at 2 GHz; the DSX-5000 covers everything through Cat 6A and Class FA at 1 GHz.
Fluke Networks is the network cabling and certification division within the Fluke Corporation family of test and measurement brands. Fluke Corporation has been part of Fortive Corporation since Fortive's 2016 spin-off from Danaher. Fluke Networks operates as a focused brand for cable certification, network testing, and installation tools, distinct from Fluke's industrial DMM and process instrument lines.
The DSX CableAnalyzer Series consists of two copper certification modules built on the shared Versiv main unit platform: the DSX-8000 and the DSX-5000. Both modules use the same 5.7 in capacitive touchscreen, the same Taptive user interface, the same ProjX project-management system, the same LinkWare PC and LinkWare Live software, and the same lithium-ion battery and chassis. The difference between the two modules is frequency range and the standards each can certify.
Fluke Networks documents the DSX-8000 as the 2 GHz module supporting Cat 5e, 6, 6A, Cat 8, and Class I/II certification. The DSX-5000 is documented as the 1 GHz module supporting Cat 5e, 6, 6A, and Class FA certification. The DSX-8000 is the choice when Cat 8 / Class I/II certification is required; the DSX-5000 is the choice when the job ceiling is Cat 6A / Class FA and the 1 GHz range is sufficient.
Each new DSX module below is its own product page with condition-matched pricing and the appropriate Channel and Permanent Link adapter set for its frequency range. Add-on kits, remote units, and adapter accessories are listed separately in the ordering tables — verify the specific adapter set and accessory needs for your job before ordering.
The differences between the DSX-8000 and DSX-5000 reflect their certification ceilings. The DSX-8000 runs Cat 6A/Class EA Autotest in 8 seconds and Cat 8 Autotest in 16 seconds; the DSX-5000 runs Cat 6A/Class EA Autotest in 10 seconds. Both store approximately 12,000 Cat 6A results with plots; the DSX-8000 additionally stores about 5,000 Cat 8 results with plots. Both support Resistance Unbalance, shield integrity check with distance to fault, TCL, ELTCTL, CDNEXT, CMRL, and built-in Alien Crosstalk capability.
The adapter sets differ in frequency rating. DSX-8000 ships with 2 GHz Channel and Permanent Link adapters; DSX-5000 ships with 1 GHz Channel and Permanent Link adapters. Both modules accept optional Coax, M12, TERA, GG45/ARJ45, and Cat 5e/6/6A patch-cord adapters for MPTL certification. See the comparison table that follows for the side-by-side feature-by-feature view.
