The Anritsu MT8820C Radio Communication Analyzer is a multi-format cellular and wireless terminal test platform covering 30 MHz to 2.7 GHz, with optional extension to 3.4 GHz to 3.8 GHz via the MT8820C-018. The platform integrates RF signal generation, RF analysis, and call processing into a single benchtop instrument designed for Tx and Rx characterization of mobile terminals across the major commercial cellular standards.

When configured with the appropriate measurement software and hardware options, a single MT8820C measures the major Tx and Rx characteristics of LTE FDD and TDD, LTE-Advanced FDD and TDD, W-CDMA/HSPA/HSPA Evolution/DC-HSDPA, GSM/GPRS/EGPRS, CDMA2000 1X, PHS/Advanced PHS, and TD-SCDMA/HSPA terminals. Documented applications include transmit power, frequency error, occupied bandwidth, spectrum emission mask, adjacent channel leakage power ratio, modulation accuracy, EVM, code domain power, throughput, BER, BLER, FER, and CQI reporting. End-to-end voice, audio Tx/Rx, video phone, and packet data transfer tests are also supported through the handset connector, AF input/output, and Ethernet interfaces.

ValueTronics International sells, configures, and supports the Anritsu MT8820C from its 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive, Elgin, Illinois. Unlike pass-through brokers and drop-shipping resellers, every unit that leaves our facility has been received, recorded, and handled by our own staff. This in-house workflow lets us confirm option strings, installed measurement hardware, and physical condition before any quote is finalized, and it gives buyers a single accountable U.S.-based point of contact for the lifecycle of the instrument.

Brand Heritage

Anritsu is a Japanese precision measurement company with roots reaching back to 1895, and its current RF and microwave test portfolio reflects the 1993 acquisition of the U.S. company Wiltron Company. Instruments and product lines originally introduced under the Wiltron name now sit within the Anritsu catalog, and Anritsu has remained an independent T&M manufacturer rather than being absorbed into a larger conglomerate.

Important: Extended frequency coverage from 3.4 GHz to 3.8 GHz requires the MT8820C-018 option and either MT8820C-017, MT8820C-119, or MT8820C-120. Many measurement modes also require specific combinations of measurement hardware (MT8820C-001/002/003/007/008/011/012) and measurement software (MX-series), as detailed in the ordering information.Important: Typical values are only for reference and are not guaranteed specifications.Important: Measurement software and hardware options are sold separately and are required for system-specific Tx/Rx measurements (LTE FDD/TDD, W-CDMA/HSPA, GSM/GPRS/EGPRS, CDMA2000 1X, PHS/Advanced PHS, TD-SCDMA/HSPA). Refer to the corresponding measurement software catalog for the required option configuration.Important: The Parallel Phone Measurement Hardware MT8820C-012 requires the Parallel Phone Measurement Software MX882010C as well as installation of the required measurement software and two measurement hardware units.Important: For terminal connectivity, contact your Anritsu sales representative.Important: MT8820C-017 has been a standard option that MT8820C are shipped with until July 2012 (Simultaneous order is required MT8820C and MT8820C-017).Recommended pairing: when using the end-to-end voice communications test, connect an Anritsu A0058A or A0013 handset to the handset (RJ11) connector on the MT8820C as shown in the datasheet's end-to-end test diagrams.
