The Spectrum Master family pairs two handheld spectrum analyzers — the MS2711B and the MS2711D — that share a common 100 kHz to 3.0 GHz frequency range, rugged battery-operated packaging, and a standard built-in preamplifier. Both deliver synthesizer-based performance, one-button channel power, occupied bandwidth, and ACPR measurements, and the same Type N 50 Ω RF input.

The clearest differences appear in resolution bandwidth and sensitivity. The MS2711B offers resolution bandwidths of 10 kHz to 1 MHz and preamp-on sensitivity to –115 dBm, while the MS2711D narrows resolution bandwidth to 100 Hz and reaches –135 dBm for work on lower-level signals. The MS2711D also provides finer attenuator resolution in 1 dB steps versus 10 dB steps on the MS2711B, along with a faster full-span sweep.
The models also differ in display and options. The MS2711B uses a VGA monochrome LCD and accepts the Option 20 tracking generator, whereas the MS2711D offers a VGA color or monochrome display and supports transmission measurement (Option 21), a power meter (Option 29), and the FCN4760 frequency converter.
