The Agilent E1474A is a Six 1x4, 75 Ω RF Multiplexer built as a C-size, 1-slot, register-based VXI module. It is positioned for video and telecommunications applications where 75-ohm signal paths are required, and it is functionally identical to the E1472A except for output impedance. The module organizes its switching into six independent banks (Bank 0 through Bank 5), each acting as a 1x4 one-wire multiplexer, with only one channel in each bank connected to its common at any time.
Typical applications for the E1474A include video signal routing and telecommunications switching, where multiple 75-ohm sources need to be routed through a single common point. The module can be used as six independent multiplexers, or combined with other E1474A units to form a larger tree-switched multiplexer or a limited stubless matrix. The E1474A can also drive external relays requiring 5 V, 12 V, or 24 V control signals, and it directly controls the E1475A 75 Ω and E1473A 50 Ω RF multiplexer expanders for system expansion.
ValueTronics stocks, inspects, and ships test and measurement equipment from a 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive, Elgin, Illinois. Every pre-owned E1474A passes through our in-house bench before it leaves the building — unlike pass-through brokers and drop-shippers, we physically handle the modules we sell. That hands-on workflow is how we verify connector condition on the SMB ports, confirm the module powers up correctly, and document what is actually in the box.
The E1474A was originally developed under the Hewlett-Packard test and measurement banner. HP spun off its test and measurement business as Agilent Technologies in 1999, and Agilent's electronic measurement division became Keysight Technologies in 2014. Modules carrying the Agilent badge — like the E1474A — are part of that same engineering lineage.
