The Agilent CSA Spectrum Analyzer N1996A is a 3/6 GHz spectrum analyzer positioned to deliver a new level of value for under $10,000 (USD). It is described as best-in-class on dynamic range, with a convenient size and portability that let it travel with the user, and it is presented as a truly expandable, exceedingly easy-to-use instrument that meets test and measurement needs across applications.
A spectrum analyzer measures signal amplitude across a span of frequencies, letting an engineer characterize how power is distributed across the frequency domain. The N1996A provides measurement functions including adjacent channel power (ACP), occupied bandwidth (OBW), and stimulus/response, along with standard capabilities such as limit masks, triggering, markers, multiple traces, and detectors.
