The Agilent N5221A and N5222A are PNA Series vector network analyzers offered in both 2-port and 4-port configurations. The N5221A covers 10 MHz to 13.5 GHz and the N5222A covers 10 MHz to 26.5 GHz. Each model is built around a standard test set in its base configuration (Option 200 for 2-port, Option 400 for 4-port), with additional option tiers that add front-panel jumpers, an R1 receiver switch, source and receiver attenuators for extended power range, and bias-tees.
A vector network analyzer characterizes how a device under test reflects and transmits RF energy, measuring S-parameters across a swept frequency range. These analyzers support full 2-port calibration with the referenced calibration standards and perform reflection and transmission measurements, group delay measurements, and point-in-pulse and pulse-profile measurements using the internal receiver gates. Segment-sweep operation allows predefined frequency segments to output higher power where extended dynamic range is required and reduced power where the maximum receiver input level would otherwise be exceeded.
ValueTronics stocks its own inventory from a 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Every pre-owned unit is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships, while new units leave the building factory-sealed exactly as received. That combination of owned stock and hands-on verification of used equipment is what separates a ValueTronics order from a blind listing.
Agilent Technologies was created in 1999 when Hewlett-Packard spun out its test and measurement business as an independent company. In 2014, that electronic measurement business was renamed Keysight Technologies. Instruments carrying the Agilent brand date from this transitional period of the company's history.
The N5221A and N5222A make up a two-model PNA Series family that shares a common architecture and option structure while differing in maximum frequency coverage. Both are offered in 2-port and 4-port configurations and support the same calibration kits, interfaces, and option tiers.
Across the family, the base models (Option 200 and Option 400) ship with a standard test set, while higher option numbers add front-panel jumpers, an R1 receiver switch, source and receiver attenuators for extended power range, and bias-tees.
Each model below is its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Select the model and configuration you need, then choose the pre-owned listing that fits your budget and timeline.
The N5222A extends coverage to 26.5 GHz, adding the 13.5 GHz to 26.5 GHz bands with their own published dynamic range and noise-floor figures, whereas the N5221A tops out at 13.5 GHz.
The primary difference is frequency span: the N5221A covers 10 MHz to 13.5 GHz and the N5222A covers 10 MHz to 26.5 GHz. Both are available as 2-port models (Option 200, 201, 217, 219) and 4-port models (Option 400, 401, 417, 419), where the higher option suffixes add front-panel jumpers, the R1 receiver switch, extended-power-range attenuators, and bias-tees.
Weight also tracks configuration, with 2-port models at a nominal 27 kg (60 lb) net and 4-port models at 36.7 kg (81 lb) net. See the comparison table that follows for the per-model and per-option specifics.

Important: Option 217/417: with a thru connection between the test ports, a 7 VDC input to the coupler-thru (CPLR THRU) ports damages the source attenuator on the connected port.
Important: All specifications and characteristics apply over a 25 °C ±5 °C range (unless otherwise stated) and 90 minutes after the instrument has been turned on.
Important: Corrected (calibrated) measurement performance is specified using the 85052B mechanical calibration kit (or the N4691B 2-port / N4433A 4-port Electronic Calibration modules), the 85131F flexible test port cable set, and a full 2-port calibration; these calibration standards and cables are required to make corrected measurements.
Important: The extended dynamic range at the direct receiver access input is only available in one-path transmission measurements and should only be used when the receiver input will never exceed its maximum receiver input; it may typically be degraded at particular frequencies below 500 MHz due to spurious receiver residuals.
Important: Some instruments may ship with a more advanced microprocessor than the listed Intel 2.0 GHz Core i7 CPU.
