The California Instruments 2001RP is a programmable AC power source that delivers up to 2000 VA of single-phase output power from a 5.25-inch rack-mount chassis. The unit provides dual output voltage ranges of 0–150 V RMS and 0–300 V RMS line-to-neutral, with an output frequency range that extends from 16 Hz to 5000 Hz. Front-panel digital rotary encoders set voltage and frequency, and settings and measurements are displayed on dual 4-digit LCD readouts.

The 2001RP is positioned for product development, quality control, and avionics applications. For product development, the precise voltage regulation and wide frequency range make it a general-purpose lab AC source, and built-in measurements may be added (Option -OP1) to extend its usefulness for design work on AC-powered products. For quality control, the unit can simulate line conditions found anywhere in the world to verify that products destined for export operate as designed. As an affordable source of 400 Hz AC power, the 2001RP is suited to commercial and defense avionics applications, and a special Avionics version (-AV option) offers reduced weight and increased output current at 115 V RMS.

ValueTronics has supplied new and pre-owned test and measurement equipment from our facility in Elgin, Illinois since 1992. Every instrument that moves through our 20,000 square foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive is inventoried, inspected, and prepared by our in-house technical team before it ships. Whether you are sourcing a 2001RP for an avionics test bench, a CE-marking compliance lab, or a development program, working with ValueTronics means dealing directly with engineers and product specialists who know AC power sources — not a drop-ship broker passing your order along the chain.

Brand Heritage

California Instruments has designed and built programmable AC power sources for over three decades, with the 2001RP introduced in the late 1990s. California Instruments was later acquired by AMETEK and now operates as part of AMETEK Programmable Power; the original California Instruments brand identity is retained on legacy product literature and instruments such as the 2001RP.

Important: Output current capability varies with output voltage and frequency per the V-I and V-F rating charts in the specifications. Verify the unit's rated output current at your specific operating voltage and frequency before connecting the load.Important: Measurements, IEEE-488 / RS232C remote control interface, Remote Inhibit input, Function Strobe output, and Windows Graphical User Interface software require Option -OP1 (Option Package 1) and are not included in the base 2001RP configuration.Important: Specifications shown are valid over an ambient temperature range of 25°±5°C.Important: Output voltage and current capability vary with frequency and voltage range; consult the datasheet's V-F and I-V rating charts for derating in supplemental operating regions (e.g., above 2 kHz and from 2 kHz to 5 kHz).Recommended pairing: when full transient programming and bus measurements are required, specify Option -OP1, which adds the IEEE-488 / RS232C interface, extended measurements, Windows GUI software, and the Remote Inhibit input / Function Strobe output.
