The Rohde & Schwarz SMATE200A is a vector signal generator built on the R&S SMU200A platform and specifically designed for production environments. To serve high-throughput manufacturing, the display and front-panel user interface have been removed and the connectors relocated to the rear, with performance optimized for the fastest possible setting times. The instrument retains the two-generators-in-one concept of the SMU200A platform, occupying four height units while preserving the RF performance and baseband flexibility of that platform.

A vector signal generator produces modulated RF signals whose amplitude and phase can be controlled to reproduce complex, standards-compliant waveforms that stimulate a device under test. When equipped with the corresponding software options, the SMATE200A generates signals for a wide range of digital communications standards, including GSM/EDGE, WCDMA 3GPP FDD with HSDPA and HSUPA, CDMA2000 including 1xEV-DV, TD-SCDMA, IEEE 802.11 a/b/g, IEEE 802.16 WiMAX, GPS, and DVB-H. These capabilities support production and receiver test tasks such as BER and BLER measurements, base station and user-equipment testing, and the fast switching between different test signals that production lines require.

ValueTronics stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000-square-foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Every pre-owned unit is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships, while new units leave factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer.
