# Advantest R3463 3 GHz Modulation Spectrum Analyzer (Pre-Owned)

## Key Features At A Glance

- Frequency coverage from 9 kHz to 3 GHz or 8 GHz depending on model across the series
- Dual-mode operation: CW spectrum analyzer mode plus TRANSIENT digital transmission tester mode
- Built-in digital modulation analysis (π/4QPSK for PHS, PDC, NADC) provided as standard
- STD mode auto-sets PHS, PDC and NADC parameters (GSM/DCS1800/DCS1900/DECT/CDMA optional)
- GPIB (IEEE-488), RS-232C and parallel I/O interfaces standard on the rear panel
- 6.5-inch TFT color LCD with menu-driven ‘one key solutions’ operation
- Compact, lightweight (about 17 kg) with 2-slot memory card drive (JEIDA Ver. 4.2/PCMCIA 2.1)
- DDS high-speed settling synthesizer for fast narrow-band sweep measurement

The R3465 and R3463 are modulation spectrum analyzers built for testing digital mobile communication systems. Beyond the functions of a conventional spectrum analyzer, they add functions for analyzing digitally modulated signals such as modulation accuracy and transmission speed. Built-in digital modulation analysis is provided as standard, and a menu-driven ‘one key solutions’ design lets the operator start a basic measurement or analysis simply by selecting the desired item, with independent keys for STD mode that automatically sets standard parameters and for OBW, ACP and harmonic distortion measurement.

These instruments provide total support for digital mobile communication equipment in applications ranging from radio systems development to production line adjustment and testing. In STD mode, the otherwise cumbersome parameter settings required for digital radio standards such as PHS, PDC and NADC are set automatically for each measurement item. Standard NADC (IS-55) measurements include frequency stability, transient transmission characteristics, RF power output, power transition time, carrier on-state, modulation accuracy, adjacent channel leakage power, out-of-band power due to switching, and conducted and radiated spurious emissions.

ValueTronics stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000 square-foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois, so the instruments you order are kept on hand by our own team rather than sourced on demand. Every used unit is inspected and functionally verified in-house by qualified technicians before it ships, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer.

## Compare Other Models in This Series

The R3465 and R3463 are modulation spectrum analyzers for digital mobile communications that share a common platform — dual-mode CW and TRANSIENT operation, built-in digital modulation analysis, menu-driven STD-mode parameter setting, and a 6.5-inch TFT color LCD — while differing in frequency coverage and option availability.

The principal distinction is frequency range: the R3465 reaches 8 GHz and the R3463 reaches 3 GHz. The R3465 also incorporates a built-in YIG synchronous preselector across 1.7 to 8 GHz, and a number of the digital-standard analysis options can be configured on the R3465 only.

Each model below links to its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing for the pre-owned unit you select, so you can compare the R3465 and R3463 and choose the model and configuration that fit your measurement requirements.

The R3465 differentiates itself within the family with frequency coverage to 8 GHz, a built-in YIG synchronous preselector from 1.7 to 8 GHz, and a specified 90 dBc dynamic range for high-frequency measurement; several digital-standard options are noted as settable on the R3465 only.

As shown in the comparison table, the R3465 covers 9 kHz to 8 GHz while the R3463 covers 9 kHz to 3 GHz, and the R3465 weighs 17 kg maximum versus 16.5 kg for the R3463. The R3465 adds the 1.7-to-8 GHz built-in preselector and its associated 90 dBc dynamic-range capability that the 3 GHz model does not list.

Option availability also differs between the two: several digital-standard analysis options — including the GSM, DECT and related Tx-analysis options and the high-stability crystal option — are marked as R3465-only in the options table, so verify each option against the specific model before ordering rather than assuming parity across the family.
