The Keysight N5227B is a PNA network analyzer offered in 2-port and 4-port configurations. Standard models cover 10 MHz to 67 GHz, while Low Frequency Extension (LFE) options extend the measurement range down to 900 Hz (specified), giving a continuous 900 Hz to 67 GHz span on a single instrument. Typical performance information is also provided between 67 GHz and 70 GHz. The analyzer uses 1.85 mm (male), 50 Ω test port connectors.

A network analyzer of this type measures the reflection and transmission characteristics of a device under test — the S-parameters that describe how a component or network responds to applied RF and microwave signals. The N5227B's specifications are organized around reflection measurements (Sii) and transmission measurements (Sij), corrected system performance after full 2-port calibration, and group delay derived from measured phase change across a selectable aperture.

ValueTronics stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Every pre-owned instrument is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer. Holding our own stock lets us match the right configuration to the application and stand behind what we sell.

## Brand Heritage

Keysight Technologies traces its measurement heritage through Hewlett-Packard, whose test and measurement business was spun off as Agilent Technologies in 1999. Agilent's electronic measurement division was then established as Keysight Technologies in 2014.

> **Important:** Damage input level: 27 dBm / 40 V for Options 200, 201, 219, 400, 401, and 419; 20 dBm / 50 V for the LFE options.

> **Important:** Typical performance information between 67 GHz and 70 GHz is shown in this document where available. The performance is degraded at particular frequencies in this range due to the modes of the 1.85 mm connectors used in the analyzer, test port cables and adapters.

> **Important:** With an LFE option, the LFE measurement range overlaps with the standard measurement range from 10 MHz to 100 MHz. With LFE Enabled, measurements from 500 Hz to 100 MHz use LFE hardware. To measure below 10 MHz, LFE must be enabled.

> **Important:** All measurements above 100 MHz use standard hardware, regardless of the LFE Enabled/Disabled setting.

> Recommended pairing: corrected system performance is specified with the 85058B mechanical calibration kit and the N4694A and N4694D 2-port ECal modules.
