**RF Analog Signal Generator (9 kHz - 3 GHz)**

The Keysight N5171B EXG X-Series RF analog mid-performance signal generators are optimized for manufacturing with faster throughput and greater uptime at the right price.

**Several versions available**

The N5171B is offered with three frequency ranges, as shown below. Please note, the part numbers below contain the frequency option already installed.

-   N5171B/501: 9 kHz to 1 GHz
-   N5171B/503: 9 kHz to 3 GHz
-   N5171B/506: 9 kHz to 6 GHz

**Modes of operation**

The N5171B offers several modes of operation:

**_Continuous Wave_**

In this mode, the signal generator produces a continuous wave signal. The signal generator is set to a single frequency and power level.

**_Swept Signal_**

In this mode, the signal generator sweeps over a range of frequencies and/or power levels.

**_Analog modulation_**

In this mode, the signal generator modulates a CW signal with an analog signal. The analog modulation types available depend on the installed options (sold separately).

-   Option UNT provides AM, FM, and phase modulations. Some of these modulations can be used together
-   Option 303 provides a multifunction generator that consists of seven waveform generators
-   Option UNW provides pulse modulation capability
